Came here on April 29th while passing through town with a touring musician. We looked the place up and were super excited to go after reading the reviews. Got in and were introduced to our waiter (a lovely Indonesian man who did a fantastic job and who we really enjoyed.) The food was delicious and we were very happy with what we received. 1 star rating because of the following incident: I asked our waiter where the restroom was and he said "right there, sir," misgendering me on accident. I totally understand as I have very short hair and am very tall! He corrected himself immediately was super apologetic. No problem at all! This happens all the time and I don't mind. After this, the other 3 men in the restaurant (in the kitchen door area and cleaning the main dining room) began laughing at me so loudly and embarrassingly that our server seemed embarrassed, as well. They laughed at me the entire walk to the restroom and began laughing when I came out, too. The one young man (sweeping the floor) had his cell phone up like he was going to photograph me and I walked back out facing him so he was unable to take a photo without being super noticable. This was an embarrassing and horrible experience. As a 43 year old woman, I haven't been laughed at since highschool. I haven't been bullied since I was a child and I don't treat folks poorly. I would highly recommend that anyone who is GNC, queer, visibly "out" or in a subjugated group of society at all, not go here. Getting made fun of (for nothing at all) was super awkward and uncomfortable. The poor treatment by the men employed here is not worth enduring...
Read moresee edit it changed I can't wait to go again and bring family to experience the made to order all you can eat menu. (30.00 per person dinner price plus gratuity, it was well worth it) I really appreciate all you can eat but eat what you order policy. My husband and I had a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and dessert. The fried Oreos reminded me of yummy fair food. Large selection on a full menu. Contemporary, casual atmosphere. Clean and attentive service.
I was there yesterday with a group of friends. There was 8 of us in total. I was the first to get there and right away the waitress was very snooty with me. When my company came they made the same observation too. We asked for a drink menu which she brought and dropped off at the edge of the table and walked away. We sat for at least 30 more mins before I walked to the hostess to have her get our our waitress to take our order. When she came back she cut us off when we tried to ask her questions about the menu. We was very abrasive and attitudinal. We had to ask her if she was okay which she responded very loudly I am fine what are you ordering. Half the table got their their drink and the other half didn't. One person got her food while the rest of the table didn't. It made it weird for her to be the only one with food. We asked for a manager and she responded loudly and aggressively there is no manager. I'm in charge of this table. At that point we we decided we've had enough. We told her we were leaving and she was like that's okay. She didn't care about our concern or even remorseful. We felt like we weren't welcomed and it didn't matter that izumi lost our business. 8 people that was on the same page regarding the waitress attitude. We went to Tru Blue instead where we got an excellent service...
