WOW! - Ate there for the first time yesterday. - AMAZED at the speed and quality of the service!
Total time there for 3 of us to eat was 45 minutes - and that was with about 10-15 minutes of visiting after! - We were seated very promptly by a very pleasant host. - Had chips in front of us and our drink order placed in a minute or two, and the drinks arrived in less than a minute! - Ordered a Cheese Dip (Queso Blanco) and it was there in another minute or so. - Ordered up Chicken Fajitas, my dining companions ordered Shrimp Fajitas and a beef burrito. Chips were about 2/3 eaten and they offered a fill on them - queso was excellent, salsa was perfect, a little kick to it. - And before we were 1/2 done with our Small queso, our Tortillas arrived (I thought oh no, they'll get cold by the time the rest arrives). - The veggie/sour cream/Guac arrived (Guac is excellent as well). - And as they stepped away heard the sizzle coming around the corner. - Quite possibly the fastest service I've had at a sit down restaurant (Actually beats many Fast Food places I've eaten).
As for food - it was superb. - Right on par with most great "Authentic" mexican I've had at other places, but crazy fast awesome service. - And their prices were fair ($12 for the Fajitas or so, total bill was 45 for the 3 of us - I left a generous tip due to the over the top great service we got.
All this when the place was at least 80% full on a Thursday night around 7PM. - I'll be back for sure, I hear they have affordable lunch specials and the service has been quick then as well.
Give them a try if you enjoy authentic mexican food for sure! - It's a little out of the way on Main Ave, and parking was a bit tight, but...
Read moreFirst of all, I've eaten here once in the past, and found the food to be comparable to Paradiso (another "Midwest Mexican" restaurant that serves bland food), but Mango's is overpriced. On my second trip there, I went to meet family from out of town and was told they were closed, even though it was over a half hour before closing time. My group had just got their food before I arrived. I tried to tell the owner that I was meeting people but he just shrugged his shoulders and told me they were closed and to leave. He didn't even want to let me explain the situation to my group about me not being allowed to stay. My group already saw me walk in, what was I supposed to do wave and walk back out while they were starting at me, waiting? The owner didn't let me even go sit with my family without ordering food. So I had to tell my boyfriend quickly that I wasn't allowed to stay, as he walked over to check what was going on. I walked out while the owner was staring, I had to sit outside and wait for my group. Their meal was cut short because they felt bad and came outside because I was waiting. Then we had to stand in the cold talking rather than inside while they ate their meal they paid for, when the restaurant was still supposed to be open. The whole thing was ridiculous. They're losing business. Go somewhere else if you want mexican food, they food is definitely not good enough to justify the...
Read moreI’m hoping our experience is just a fluke- the food was great and awesome prices and serving sizes-so I would maybe go back to give them another chance, but once we were seated it was like they forgot about us. We waited over a half hour for them to come to take our order and i had to flag someone down to get them to come to us. I had a really hungry toddler there too so i was worried she’d flip out soon because We hadn’t been given chips yet even...The worst part was the waitress saw us multiple times and she’d walk away before we could ask her for something every time she was near. When she took our beverage orders we wanted to order queso too and she was gone before we had even finished verifying the beverage order. then when she finally brought the queso she didn’t even bring a new basket of chips so we had to wait again - It was just a long, less enjoyable visit than we had hoped for. Grateful for the delicious food once we finally got it. So we got there at 12:30, seated at 12:40, ordered just after 1:15pm.
If you do go, I highly recommend the enchiladas...
