I have ordered weekly from Front Porch Pantry from December 2024 to May 2025. Their food is American style with some Mexican. The first 2 months it was very good but it is expensive. ($16.99-$19.99 per meal). The hook is each meal is equivalent to 2 meals. That was true at first. In the last 3 months the meat and vegetable portion has dwindled with the potato portion taking up half the meal. I personally don't eat potatoes and have been throwing them in the trash. I wrote them 2 letters suggesting they use less potatoes but they answered back both times that people want potatoes! Every week on their meal selections they might have one meal with rice and one meal with couscous and the rest have some form of potato. At first it was real whole meat but in the last 3 months some of the meat seems institutional meat that they buy cooked and add different sauces to or add to salads. There is no subscription which is good. I was ordering 4 meals, 1 dessert, 1 slice quiche at $95 a week and throwing away the potatoes! So I was getting the equivalent of 2 meals per serving and since they recently doubled down on the amount of potatoes they add to each meal and reduced the meat and vegetable serving it is equivalent to one and half meals. The dessert is usually cake which is medicore at best. Very skimpy on frosting and sometimes dry. The pie is bad and so is the cheese cake. The crust is always so rock hard you can't even cut thru it. The taste is never good. The meal offerings were really good and went for about a month with no repetition but in the last 2 months the repetition has become every other week! The customer service is good as far as attitude and wanting to be helpful but there is no refunds for bad food. You have to order at least $85 not including tax per week to not receive a delivery charge of $10. I quit ordering in May 2025 because $95 a week is too much for 1 1/2 meals per serving after you throw away the potato and a bad desert plus I don't like...
Read moreI came across an ad for Front Porch Pantry and, wanting to eat healthier but lacking time for home cooking, I decided to check out their menu. After browsing their social media offerings, I selected several items to order.
A few days later, I received two well-insulated bags filled with my meals. I was immediately impressed by how well the food was packed with gel packs—first impression? Perfect.
On the first night, I had spaghetti Bolognese. After freezing everything, I appreciated the reheating instructions. However, the suggested 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees wasn't enough for frozen meals. I found that adding another 35 minutes did the trick for a hot meal without cold spots. The spaghetti was delicious, bursting with flavors of tomatoes, oregano, meat, and seasonings—it was just perfect.
Later that evening, I wanted a snack. Even though I’m not a big cheese fan, the quiche looked irresistible, so I added it to my cart. It was fantastic—the flavor, crust, and freshness were all spot on.
The next meal was a pot roast with vegetables, and again, perfection! The taste, ingredients, and freshness were all impressive.
After the third meal, I felt compelled to leave a review for others like me who rely on feedback. Often, reviews come from those with bad experiences or overly enthusiastic relatives. But let me tell you about the chicken pot pie. Ladies and gentlemen, you’ve never tasted a crust like this, with presentation and chicken that tasted like it was just off the rotisserie. The peas and gravy were outstanding. Can we take a moment to appreciate this? It was A M A Z I N G—10 out of 10! Seriously, you don’t need to add seasoning; it’s that good.
If you’re hesitating to try this service, stop right there. I promise you can taste the care, respect, and love for food that your mom didn’t make. This is...
Read moreI have looked into meal service companies for years. Things just didn't add up for me. Either I couldn't justify the "per meal" cost, or the food wasn't much better than frozen dinners from the grocery store.
My wife found Frint Porch Pantry, and we decided to check it out since its near us. That way we could actually see the food, and pick some meals to try if they looked worthwhile. We could also figure out what 1-2 servings mean?
We grabbed 6 different meals to help us rate FPP based on variety. Looking at the sizes, we decided each would feed both of us if we added a salad or a veggie.
We ended up 6 for 6! All 6 were a hit. Much better than frozen foods, and the price per meal was reasonable even adding a salad or extra veggie. To be clear, we are trying to cut back on quantity, but that just means a reasonable amount vs the mass quantities we usually served. If you are a big eater, the price is still reasonable for 1, and you will absolutely get your fill.
Right now, our schedules don't allow for cooking our own meals. We were eating out, using food delivery, or getting fast food. When I realized how much we were spending each week, it made me nauseous. Just picking up Chick fil a was costing more than FPP meal. The extra fees PER ITEM for good food to be delivered (Door Dash) was mind numbing.
In short, give it a try. Good, hot food at home for a reasonable price. Even when our schedules allow us to cook our own meals, I imagine we we still use FPP a few nights a week for the days we just don't...
