If it’s possible to give no star at all, I would rate this restaurant zero stars, my friend and I ate here on thanksgiving day, all day I was looking forward to the dinner that I made sure not to eat anything so I could eat well, made a reservation weeks before for 5pm that day and got there at 5:30 pm that day, had crab cakes, jumbo shrimp pasta, 6 oz filet mignon, creamed corn and mashed potatoes and a whole bottle of white wine, food tasted nice so we didn’t know what was waiting for us after; waiter tried to force us to tip him 20 percent of the bill, I thought tips were supposed to be discretionary, i had to stand my ground that I wasn’t tipping that much, it was a tip not a bill then he backed down, even validation for the valet, the valet still charged us 10box even though we didn’t stay for an hr and the ticket was validated already. After getting home, my friend started complaining that her stomach was hurting, I didn’t take it seriously initially, after 30 mins, the pain got worse, she was writhing soo bad, couldn’t sit straight and was practically in tears, at this time I had gone to toilet once and was a watery stool but I didn’t take cognizance of that, I gave her flagyl and aleve painkillers and told her and told her to wait to give it 30 mins, I dropped her off at home and went back to mine, she called me less than an hr later in a panic mode that she’s having itches all over her body, she was soo scared, had to take her to the ER that night with my running stomach. From the dinner time till the following morning I went to the loo no less than 5 times, I’m guessing it wasn’t soo bad for me because I just finished a strong regimen of Azithromycin so that explains why I didn’t feel any stomach pain but I kept stooling. I called the restaurant to report it and I was told since no one else had called to complain from that night, there’s nothing they can do except I bring a doctor’s report tying the food from their restaurant to the stomach ache. I eat out a lot, capital grille, fearings , top of the world in Vegas, Perry’s steakhouse, Morton’s steakhouse and a lot of others and I’ve never had this situation. I’d never advise anyone I know to go there and thus this honest review. Worst 210 box...
Read moreHad a horrible experience at Oceanaire Dallas, and extremely dissatisfied with how the management (both on-site and corporate) dealt with the issue.
My company booked a group dinner for the night of 9/7, so on the night of 9/6 a smaller group of us went there or dinner. Service was slow with only three servers working, the menu says everything was fresh caught that day but didn’t seem that way at all because the tuna was grey and the shrimp was rubbery. After dinner, two out of three of us got sick with one ended up being rushed to ER, and stayed in ICU till the afternoon of the next day. The next morning a coworker from my company went into the restaurant and asked to cancel the group reservation of that night since after the prior experience, we did not want more people to get sick, and the level of service was too slow to for a large group of 16 people. Our coworker had the pleasure of speaking to the general manager of Oceanire, Lisa Walters. She refused to acknowledge any of that, instead she threatened to fire the server as a “resolution”. She was in fact in the hotel lobby while we had to rush the coworker to ER the night before. Not only she had a horrible attitude, but she demanded to speak to the person who made the reservation, who happened to be the one fell sick and had to stay in ICU overnight. Not only she refused to deal with the issue, she threatened us with penalty to cancelation because of the contract we signed. She promised to reach out on September 9 for an resolution, and never did. Frankly we were not surprised given her work ethic and professionalism. Not only did she not refund the deposit, but she went ahead and charged our corporate card another $800+ dollars for the meal they didn’t serve. We reached out to the event manager and explained to her what happened, and she escalated it to the Oceanaire regional manager Nathan Cook, and promised that we will hear back from him. It’s been weeks and we still haven’t. Both the corporate and field management are incompetent...
