I just wanted to take some time and post about the absolutely wonderful experience we had at Saltgrass for my birthday. This time was due ENTIRELY to the staff, specifically Devonte and Ariel. When I say above and beyond, I mean it. Truly this was one of the stand out restaurant experiences I’ve had in my entire 28 years of life. Thank you for making my birthday unforgettable. We first were sat near the bar and my grandfather had trouble hearing so we requested a move and the staff happily engaged with us and asked where would be best for his hearing and mobility. They genuinely cared about our experience. One we had moved, we started ordering and my grandfather wanted to treat us to a nice wine. He made a selection but when it came out there had been an error in its packaging and the wine had turned vinegary. Devonte was apologetic and smelled it himself, so he went to get us another similar one since that was their last of our selection. One that hadn’t even been added to the menu yet and of a slightly higher price. He offered it to us at the adjusted price and my family was very fond of his replacement choice and how it tasted. When we talked about our birthdays, he offered us a dessert on the house. There were truly not problems that occurred in our eyes but he noticed toothpicks in the range rattlers (?) we ordered and offered us a discount since they weren’t supposed to be present. We weren’t even upset about it but he still went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Ariel was also a true delight. She and Devonte worked seamlessly together to give us a top notch experience. She was all smiles and was attentive to my grandfather and the volume he needed as well as quickly fulfilling all requests with a smile and grace. What a wonderful place. If I get the joy of returning, I know who’s section I’d like to sit in. She offered us extra plates when we were splitting. She promptly listed all desserts when we inquired, and she even helped us decipher what could be safe for my gluten free friend. She is excellent at her job, and Devonte is running an excellent restaurant with a joyous and attentive staff. Bravo, Saltgrass. Thank you for making 28...
Read more1st and last visit to this steak house. Service was good at first until my Fiancé and I noticed that other tables were being prioritized before us even though we had showed up and ordered our food first before a table next to us. The manager (Cat) apologized and gave a discount to the table next to us for the long wait even though they received their food first. No one checked up on us to give us the status/update on our food that we had ordered. I had spoke to our waiter (Brad) and asked if we would receive a discount as well given that we had ordered 15 minutes before the table next to us and had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes after the food was brought out for the table next us. He said he would ask the manager (Cat) to see if it was possible. The manager came up to us and asked us what was wrong pretty aggressive and I explained to her that we had been waiting for quite some time for our food and she said she would only remove the appetizer. Once our waiter (Brad) brought out our food he did not ask if we needed anything and just left once he dropped the food off. We had to ask the manager for steak sauce that was never brought to us until we had asked for our check and box to go. Our waiter (Brad) brought our check and said that (x) amount was taken off of the check and he quoted "That's Alot!". I tip based on service and we did not have a good experience so I did not tip him, and he leaned over my shoulder when I was signing my check and made a comment saying "Well that's nice!". And I explained to him I tip based on service sir and he just left. I spoke to the manager after that comment he made and she apologized saying "Im sorry if I came off a certain type of way" and stated she would speak to our waiter (Brad) as he should not be making those type of comments. I'm not sure if this is a race issue as we were one of the only Hispanics in the restaurant in our section, and we did feel discriminated against because the manager and waiter were speaking to us very aggressively compared to other groups. This will be our last time coming to...
Read moreWe came here with our family tonight of 5 to include a toddler. Our food was amazing! We live 55 mins away and love coming out here. Our waiter Dakota was awesome. He took the time to find out our wants and built a rapport with us. We even got to see his beautiful family. The food was superb as this location is always quiet and laid back. We will definitely comeback again -try the redfish if you havent.
UPDATE:
We decided to come tonight on our usual Sunday evening with our family to bring our mother in law who traveled from out of state. I am highly disappointed with the service and the food. Our server Deshawna was not very friendly and her service was mediocre. I have worked in the customer service field and her face to face interaction with myself and our family was horrible. Her demeanor indicated that she did not want to be bothered with us. From the time we walked in her energy was bad but after waiting over an hour for our food to be cold she started to warm up because we were leaving. Our food was not cooked properly as requested and it was cold. After this whole incident I forgot our receipts and went back inside to retrieve it and I watched her interact with the couple across from us laughing and smiling. We did not get that same energy we were treated like we weren't welcome. The only person that I would give kudos to is Mia our cashier she was amazing she interacted and built rapport with me and my young child who spilled his drink. Honestly I wont be returning we traveled from Crowley all the way to this location because of previous experience and it was ruined. Deshawana word of advice for you (I have been in customer 15+ years) if this is not the field for you there is always other options/jobs but your demeanor and personality can shine when you are genuine. I hate that we were mistreated by our own but watched her being nice to other people is unacceptable and discriminatory. I wish I had more characters to type but I will be sure to speak with the GM Philip Read. I will update with the food of our food not...
