I would like to start by saying, I was super excited to see the new place and check out their buffet. I have visited them when they were located in Farmington and I was blown away by how great the food and service was. I went in and didn't have time to sit so I grabbed a Togo buffer plate. The food seemed to be dry but I was looking forward to taste. After making my plate I asked the cashier if I could add a half a pound of brisket. She added it then headed to the back to get it. When I got home I opened my brisket and it looked horrible. It looks like the scrapping/ leftovers from the brisket. When we ordered it before at the other location it came in slices. Now they gave me some "chopped" up brisket. If you server you brisket in 2 different ways wouldn't you ask the customer how you want it, chopped or sliced. But when I tried a bite it was dry and hard. There is no way they chopped it because there would be some sort of moister in the meat. The flavor was even worse. I only like 10 mins down the road but I'm not going back to complain about my brisket because the management should be monitoring the quality control of the food. So apparently they don't care what they serve. I will never go back. I want to apologize in advance. I should have read the reviews ahead of time. The lack of professionalism from the managers response to poor reviews is a huge red flag. so before you go and day I'm laying about the quality of food, understand that this type if behavior is why people will not visit your establishment. I could have saved my time and money if I would have came to the reviews first to see how the management attacks customer reviews. But I trusted that I had already been to the twins BBQ so I'm sure i was going to receive the same quality as before. Boy was I wrong.

So I am just now getting around to leaving a review as it’s slipped my mind. My partner and I are long distance and he decided he wanted to order me some food for lunch at work and surprise me with it. I’ve been talking for weeks about how much I want some good BBQ so him not knowing any better he orders from Twins. I have not tried their food before so when it got delivered I was actually really excited about it! He got me a Sweet tea, Ribs, Mac n Cheese, garlic bread and Broccoli with Cheese sauce..(that one’s debatable). The ribs weren’t awful. A couple of them were more bone than anything and DRY. The other two were decent. The Mac n Cheese was definitely boxed? And DRY with no flavor. I had to take a paper towel to the garlic bread in order to dab off some of the grease? Or butter? I don’t even know WHAT it was. The bread tasted like it had been just dunked in it, and was extremely soggy. Who likes soggy bread? Now the broccoli… I LOVEEEE broccoli and cheese alike. But this stuff..? If I wanted some cheese with a little bit of broccoli I would have ordered that not the other way around. As well as, the broccoli had Zero seasoning and tasted like it had been sitting for quite some time. Even looked like it. The portions are child sized. Lastly, the BBQ sauce.. is a joke. This a BARBEQUE place, and they serve you little cups of sweet baby rays for your meat. They have good sweet tea though lol. Overall… if you come here the only suggestions I’d make is get the tea, and order the meat alone and you should be fine.

I recently revisited Twins BBQ in Bonne Terre for a second time, following a disappointing initial experience when they first opened, in Bonne Terre. Unfortunately, the quality had not improved significantly. The only redeeming item was the fried chicken, which bore some resemblance to Homestead chicken, but the pricing may deter me from ordering it again. The green beans were lukewarm and lacked flavor. The ribs were exceptionally tough, fatty, and salty, requiring a knife to separate the meat from the bone. The excessive salt content made them inedible even for my dogs, resulting in their disposal. Basically the worst tasting ribs I’ve ever had & I’ve had ribs from a lot of BBQ restaurants all over this country. As someone who requires additional salt due to a medical condition, I found the ribs to be overpoweringly salty even for me. The mac n cheese appeared to be from a boxed mix, and no flavor. The fries tasted stale, suggesting they had been left in the warmer for too long. The boneless wings were unremarkable, and the garlic bread was thinner than typical restaurant offerings and lacked flavor.

We did the buffet as a family. Our server was very friendly and had great customer service. They had recently opened when we went there. Their bbq sauce was very tasty. The meat and sides were better than other buffets in the area. The salad bar was phenomenal as well. Fried chicken and the other southern comfort foods were great too. Bbq is difficult to serve on a buffet. This is their first buffet. Give it time. If it isn’t perfect to your liking, give it another shot! They’ll have every “Karen” coming back who is writing an immature facebook post about their first experience. I think they are doing great and will continue to improve. I enjoyed their pulled pork very much! We enjoyed our experience here and will return. Aside from the restaurant, the owners are phenomenal people. Good Christian folks. A couple years ago I was hosting a local charity event that I needed prizes for. I had never met Shawn or any of the family prior. This was over 2 years ago when they were on 67 down south. I was just a random stranger to them. They gladly donated gift cards, t-shirts, and hats to support the charity event .

Give this place a shot. Come in with an open mind. They will greet you with a smile.

If you are not satisfied, please talk to them. Give them the opportunity to make things right. Don’t go straight to Facebook and make a rant. Especially, on a public community facebook forum. They are good people just trying to make a living to support their families. Let’s build each other up and not drag...
