Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Bonne Terre

The blizzard and food were okay (hence the two stars), but my issue comes from the employees at the drive thru. Mainly the woman who took my money. She insisted I dollar shorted her when I had counted the money five times before I got to the window due to a long line. I told her I had given her two fives and nine one dollar bills. She did not recount them, had a bad attitude about it, and dared me to challenge her. Eventually, I just gave her the extra dollar as it was obvious I wasn't going to win.

I worked as a cashier and as a chat assistant and I know that kind of attitude is not what is needed. She did not even smile or say thank you when I handed her the extra dollar!

It's very disappointing to me since someone very high up at that store was my Girl Scout coach. I've never had any bad experiences with this Dairy Queen, but I know know that they can't handle working just as a drive thru. I'll just wait until after quarantine so I can go in and count it in front of them. :) Their food isn't worth being talked...

I will no longer do business with the Dairy Queen in Bonne Terre, based on my experience there today. I always order from the 2 items for $5 menu in the drive-thru and did so today. But when I looked at my receipt, I saw that I had been charged the full amount, instead of the 2 for $5 discount. I asked about it and a woman who said she was the manager told me that I hadn't asked for it and so I didn't get it. She said that's the policy. But at least in my experience, that never was the case in the past. I ordered the items from the 2 for $5 menu without mentioning it and always was given the discount. I told her so. A smart manager would have apologized, returned my money, and reminded me to request the discount in the future. She did not. It’s unfortunate that their dining room has been closed for over 2 years now. I can only assume it’s due to staffing issues. The drive through is the only option, so there will be a line.

We were grabbing a late dinner around 8:30pm and there were 5-6 cars in front of us. But, other than when people are having a hard time deciding what to get, the line moves quickly. There is quite a healthy selection of meal options, including more basic choices that come with a small sundae.

We didn’t have to wait very long at all for our food once we arrived at the window and the staff working here made us feel appreciated. Very friendly for sure.
