La Fogata
Food 8.5/10 Service 1/10
We both ordered the same thing. With one different side. Mar y Tierra. Churrasco (Skirt Steak and Shrimp). The steak was perfectly tender and delicious. The tostones (fried green plantains) were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. He said the rice was delicious.
Now onto the service… They were busy when we got there. Almost all the tables were full. Not a problem. Male server tells us to take a seat wherever we’d like and that they’d be with us soon. Not a problem. There were only two servers on the floor. And we weren’t in a rush. We almost immediately get menus and asked what we want to drink. We order two waters. Took a long time to get them, but again, busy. So we’re patient and keep talking to ourselves until we finally get them.
We order our food. And it came out nice and prompt. Tried to get our servers attention but it was like we were invisible to her. We ended up asking the other server to bring us our sauces because ours never came back.
Everyone leaves. There’s only 4 tables left in the restaurant. We are her only table actively eating. I tried to get her attention multiple times. She finally stops, I ask her for water. She says sure. And walks over to another table. And starts talking with them like it’s social hour and she’s not working. At this point I am completely out of water and so is my partner. I tried to get her attention and nothing. So I get up and walk to the bar and the very polite bartender filled up my cup of water.
When walking back to my table, the server looks at me and turns away from me. Giving me her back. And continues to have a conversation with her table!!!!
The table she’s conversing with finally leaves. She clears it and walks by us without a word. She goes to her other table that had been waiting for their checks this whole time as well, and finally gets their checks. She goes and starts wiping tables and I have to wave her down to get her to come over and get us our check! She says sure right away. And goes over to the other table and finally takes their cards to process their payment. Walks back to our table and when we look at her… she’s oh I’ll be back with your check. And finally grabs the dirty plates off our table. Goes to the male server and asks him to drop off our check.
The disrespect at turning your back at your guests when they ask for something and ten minutes later don’t have it, was it for me. I’ve been in the service industry my whole life. And that was a bigger insult than the lady that threw a drink in my face for not letting them walk out the door with alcohol. Not once did our server come over and acknowledge that she didn’t bring us a refill. Or even checked on us the whole meal.
Food… worth returning for. Her service.....
Read moreWorst experience ever I had in a restaurant for trying to exchange a plate of food that was overly salted. It all started when I decided to try a new dish as this was my second time here and wanted something different to try. As I decided to go with the Lomo Saltado, the first impression I had when they place the plate down had me second guessing if I made the right choice. It came with a small scoop of white rice, 2 Tostones, and the meat mixed with onions and peppers. The first thing I noticed the sauce was bright orange liked it had too much Salzon Goya seasoning, but I had to give it a try as I had ordered it. Before I got to the meat I gave my spouse 1 Tostone and ate the other one had a couple of bites of rice and then went for the meat the initial bite I extremely tasted a rushed of pure salt and was not able to take another bite. I even had my husband take a bite to see if I was exaggerating, but he agreed as well. I waited patiently to catch my server to come, but after waiting a while as she had a other tables to attend I decided to grab another waitress to let her know I couldn’t eat the food as it was overly salted and asked if she can exchange it for what i had prior. She took my plate and left to speak with the manger, but came back quickly with my plate and said the manger would not exchange it as she claimed I ate most of it which honestly I only had 2 spoons of rice and the tostones since I couldn’t take another bite of the overly salted meat. After going back and forth with the manger which was very sad because all customers should always be respected regardless what they thought. After all that unnecessary disagreement the manager decide to brush me off by not charging me for my plate and only my husband after she noticed I wasn’t backing off while all this could of been avoided if she would of just replaced the meal with something equivalent to the price as I originally asked to and made a customer happy to keep future services for the business, but with such a bad experience that was my 2nd and last time I give them any of my hard working money. I do have to say my server did her best to keep us satisfied because she was a sweetheart that I compensated her with a well deserved tip because she was pleasant. Hope they learn from their mistakes and go easy...
Read moreSo I ordered through speed waiter which I've been a loyal customer and decided to try la fogota for first time. I ordered steak and shrimp and chicken and steak, and the pictures are what I received, mushroom and chicken and no shrimp on anything, speedwaiter called and fogota was implying that we were trying to get a free extra dish so we have to sit here for over an hour and not eat anything. The toston pollo consisted of 5 pieces of tostones and a small pathetic cup of chicken. Then speed waiter sent driver back to pick up shrimp and they apparently with attitude threw the shrimp at the driver with attitude and we don't even want to eat it in case they did something to it unsanitary. The way fogota responded to this mistake was 100 percent unprofessional and could have remade a dish just to show good faith that they take care of the customers. By the pictures you can see the shrimp they made was in a pathetic small cup that was supposed to make up for two seperated orders that was supposed to have shrimp that I paid 20 dollars plus for each dish. The flan and tres Leche as pictured are in small frozen tin foil that resembles nothing that flan or tres Leche should. Bottom line do not eat here food quality and quantity was not worth the price, spending over 50 dollars for a meal we did not get and rude customer service this place get new management and was frankly tacky, and...
