Food and service was good when we actually got it. Miscommunication over the new thursday date night special was handled by management very well but our server had a hard time getting our drinks and food to us in a timely manner... this was due to kitchen focusing on closing tasks and a combo of a disconnect in our server, 30 minutes before actually closing and alot of leaning around "conversations" taking place among other staff members eager to get off.
We ARRIVED 1 hour and 45mins before close, I should note for a proper frame of reference...
And because half of the slowness of service is MY fault, I'm only docking 1 vs 3 stars. But due to the ONE(!) miscommunication our service took a down hill turn(some may call nose dive) Which is OBVIOUSLY unacceptable.
But because the manager was very helpful and server was initially accommodating, I let the other issues build on their own.
1)Portions smaller than average. 2)Drinks empty (once filled by another server) 3)Dessert(we paid for)had to be taken to go, was forgot, and was well under portioned and tossed in like a hand out lol I wanted to say a few R-rated words at the moment but chose the right path lol 4)Our table was left with dirty appetizer plates and dishes for 30min for no reason until ... 5)Our food was brought in peices mainly because some had been sitting too long in the window 6)salad was served almost with our dinner with dirty plates still not bussed 7)getting my check and Togo Dessert (which was forgot btw)after the meal was finished (thirsty af all the while, mind u)took 30 mins once again...
My girlfriend hates complaining. I on the other hand just hate complaints that are invalid or for the sake of complaining as alot of people do these days,... our culture seem to find EVERYTHING and anything to complain about but not fix only for selfish gain.
For that VERY reason, I dont complain much anymore because actual HELPFUL management criticism falls on deft ears. "They just want something" is many service people's reactions to restaurant criticism these days, and you would be 95% right, sadly. So when I am ready to talk I calm down, recall all the things weeks later (no emotions) and hope an eager manager can learn something helpful.
If you wanna make it up sure that's nice but do it because you want to. I hope people reading this, take a page from this genuine review.
Restaurants get better in service by Honest Customers sharing, not complaining. AND by you not coming back as a customer, you only pass your bad experience to 5 other people because nobody learned about a possible issue that could have be addressed instantly.
Carrabba's of Fayetteville! Great food, Great Management, but invest in a better staff culture and attention to detail.
Thank you. Hope this helps.
Ps- if your proud of your alfredo enough to charge extra I am happy to pay for it, no question. But make sure it actually has alfredo on the noodles. Its delicious if it has sauce. Take a look at the...
Read moreI went to Carrabba's for a quick lunch and just wanted some chicken parmesan. When I walked in, there was no one to greet me at the front desk so I just walked straight to the bar. The seats at the bar were so tightly placed that I had to move the surrounding seats next to where I want to sit just to fit in. Keep in mind I'm not a big person that needs two seats. I sit at the bar for about 5 minutes just staring at all the workers until someone notices me to give me a menu or something. 5 minutes after that I finally get someone to take my order. I give the gentleman (or whatever gender this person wants to identify as) my food and drink order and he begins to make my drink, okay good. I eventually get my soup and bread. The spices in the plate that comes with the bread are very overpowering with garlic. Do not recommend for vampires. I wasn't even instructed to use the balsamic and vinegar. It was like, "here's your food, now eat". I tried the soup and it tasted like it had too much garlic, black pepper, and salt. If I had high blood pressure I might've died from all that salt. I could barely taste the other ingredients in it. I finally got my chicken parm and it smelled burnt. It looked and smelled like it was deep fried in burnt oil that hasn't been replaced in a while. Had one small ladle of marinara sauce. And a slice of parmesan cheese. And all of this was a $25 meal according to their prices. I boxed up the chicken parm and left. As I got in the car I didn't smell the cheese or the sauce, all I could smell is the burnt bread crumbs because the deep frying oil is so old.
The service was bad due to taking so long for me to even get some service. I had maybe 4 interactions with my server at the bar. The guy was barely at the bar. I did not even know who the bartender is because he never introduced himself. The only interactions I had was for my order, reassurance that my food was coming out, receiving my food, and my check (in which I stared him down and I stated I wanted my check). Not once did he ask how my food was. Not once did he ask if I needed anything else. Not once did he even try to spark up a conversation. His coworkers gave me better service than him. I paid for my meal that was not worth the $35. I at least gave him a tip for the below-par service. I will not be coming back to this establishment. I had better service at Fazoli's down the street. At least they asked me if I wanted anything else and how...
Read moreI wish I could rate zero but that's not an option. The WORST experience of my life. The very first time I've eaten there and will be the LAST time eating here. Was there for 3 hrs. They were missing several items from the menu but we're still selling items that required the lump crab at regular price and did not let me know that that particular entree would not have the lump crab in it and that it would only be chicken. My daughter's food didn't come at all!!! After about 2 hrs I finally got a manager she was very nice and replaced my food with something else and took care of the bill ( but I was there with my sister and oldest daughter) My sister and daughter were paying for their food (it took over an hour to get their to go food that was ordered when the original for order was placed). Our waiter only came to the table every 30 minutes. 3 hours later we were still trying to settle the check and leave and we were still waiting on the to go food. As my daughter's and I we're trying to leave as my sister had the money to pay both the bills an employee yelled out Hey they're not paying!!! And my waiter yelled back at her that she was paying the bill. Whoever that waitress was was very nasty and disrespectful and embarrassing. And my sister asked her for an apology and she ran to the general manager that had been apparently unavailable for the 3 hours that we had already been waiting. His name is Ryan he is supposed to be the manager or store manager for the night and he was addressing my sister so I re-entered The Establishment to find out what was going on because he's defending his employee that accused us of walking out when she was paying the bill. This is very unacceptable behavior and I will never ever eat at Carrabba's again the food is disgusting in the employees are disrespectful. My daughter did not complain about her food however her chicken soup the chicken skin that was still in it had hairs on it and when she ordered the short rib it came with about 8 oz of oil on the side of the potatoes as if someone just poured oil on the plate because when my order was replaced with the same order my potatoes did not look like that. I will never eat at this establishment EVER. THE PURE DISRESPECT AND UNPROFESSIONALISM OF THE STAFF WAS...
