Let me start by saying this if you plan to have a large party here be aware!!
I decided to plan my 40th Birthday party here since I wanted an elegant setting, I chose Chris, now I've been here before when my husband and I celebrated our anniversary, That was always a pleasant experience but I believe they were under a different management or Owner at the time.
Let me tell you!! they made this They made my birthday experience Horrible and believe me when I say I will never come here again.
First, the fact that I had to confirm my "reservation" about 4 times from August- September is unacceptable and very unorganized. As much as I wanted to change the location the invite where already sent out and I did not want to confuse my guest with multiple invites.
I planned to rent out the room Angus to be exact, but since they do not rent out rooms due to high traffic on Fridays and Saturday I was told just to make a reservation which I did in August just to make sure my table of 17 would be ready.
I started receiving phone calls back-to-back about a contract which I thought was odd since it was just a reservation- meaning my party would sit among other guests and not by ourselves. To me the contract should have been valid if I had paid the $200 fee for the room that my guest and I would occupy so I assumed they wanted me to sign the paper they gave me just to keep records of who's attending which I did "twice" if the guest list needed to be updated. PLEASE UNDERSTAND if your guests are no shows they will charge you a fee of $53.00 per seat unoccupied for a reservation!!!. How do I know, Yes they tried to charge me for their mistake I updated my guest list on Thursday the party was Saturday but the receptionist forgot to update it!!
This new owner or manager is extremely rude and my guest took this situation as racial profiling. Reasons Number 1 I was told no balloons but the white party next to us was celebrating someone's 60th birthday party since balloons were present. 2 they gave them the middle table and put us in the corner towards the wall. Some of my guests food were cold.
The steak was not done properly and Hard.
The greens taste like the came straight out the ground no seasoning.
For the price crackers and cheese mixed with sour cream is unacceptable.
So over priced low quality food!!
And the fact that yall put both parties in one room while the Angus room was Unoccupied is crazy. I guess you weren't that busy after all and it shows.
The waiters we had no issues with they where very nice and understanding.
But the owner I have nothing nice to say PERIOD!!!
Overall 10 out of 10 I Do Not Recommend
Read the reviews on 1 Star rating is clear they do this alot. And some experienced some Racism. I should have read the 1 star review but this was a...
Read moreAfter writing a 2 star review a co-worker wanted me to go back to Chris's for his first time and I decided to give them another try. On 9-2-21 We went for dinner after a long day at work only to have not had the best waiting experience from the waitress and as the owner asked I did ask for Donovan this time to make sure that my food would be made properly. The waitress served unsweet tea when I requested sweet tea and when the manager brought back a refill (and this would be the manager Donovan), there was a house fly swimming in my drink. Not only was this gross and almost made me puke at the table. I did not make a scene as it was my co-workers first time. When I alerted Donovan of the situation he removed the cup and brought another one yet did not seem to apologetic for the ordeal. In all honesty the way I was being looked at made me feel as if I was responsible somehow for the fly getting in my drink. I don't like the idea of feeling like I'm being profiled in addition definitely not feeling like they were apologetic for the second worst ordeal I've had at that restaurant. To top The horrible event they didn't even have the decency to remove the drink off the bill!!! The only thing I was presented with was a slice of cake which we refuse several times but the waitress kept hammering so I told her to pack one up to go. I do believe that Donovan at this point realize that this is a very last time I was coming to this restaurant and that I would not return and decided to capitalize on my co-work and I as much as possible, despite knowing that this would be a permanent negative reflection that I share with everyone not only at my job but everyone I come in contact with and many others. The rule 250 will apply X10 here as I hope and pray that no one ever has to pay a very large expensive price for horrible quality service and bugs in their food. To the owner I did as you asked and sorry that your restaurant is not up to par. I pray that God guides you on how to improve if you decide to stay open because based on the quality of food and staff it appears as if you guys are planning on closing anyway.
I received a response from the owner and instead of apologizing for the ordeal yet again put the blame on us the customers. Poor quality of leadership has shown why there's a poor quality of service in your restaurant. Thank you for being an example of why we should never eat there again! Added to...
Read moreI’m not sure what happened to my review, but here it is again, in case there was technical error: Fine dining, wonderful atmosphere, Delicious food. My daughter had the New York strip, and I had surf and turf. One thing that really impressed me was they had a fresh whipped cheese to go with your cheese sticks or crackers that was so delightful! Here’s why I had to subtract 1-star: I couldn’t help feeling like my server thought that I was going to skip out on the meal, or steal some silverware LOL. No sooner than we would finish a course, he would pop out and grab everything. You may say “but this is fine dining that’s how it’s done“. But I noticed in the table directly next to ours, the server did not repeatedly pop at the table. I chose the salad bar to go with my entrée, and the plates were small. In other restaurants usually they will give you a bowl of salad to enjoy what you like while you are waiting on your meal. So after he grabbed my salad plate I asked if I would be able to get another plate. His response was “it’s one trip to the salad bar“. I thought that was a bit skimpy, and to remedy that, maybe they will consider a larger salad plate? And when I was given the check, I placed my card in the folder, and got up to use the restroom. Again he ran to grab the check, and it seemed as though he thought I was skipping out on the bill. But my daughter was with me, and I thought her staying in her seat would’ve caused ease. My daughter and I both ordered Keylime pie, and it made me laugh because her eyes actually rolled back into her head when she took the first bite (meaning, sheer delight)! Here’s another hilarious thing, I’ve driven past this street many times during the day and did not even realize the restaurant was there. It was only seeing the lit up marquee at night that I said “OK I would like to treat my daughter to a special meal to let her know how proud I am of her.” And if you have a special occasion, serious date, engagement or marriage, the atmosphere is really lovely. I would go back again, but I hope this post will reach out to that server and others to let them know people want to feel welcome when they spend their hard earned money, please approach them with a sense of welcome and trust, until they show...
