So I'll start off by saying this is some of the best food I've had in a long time. Each dish was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the food was prepared quickly enough that we didn't ever feel like we were waiting for it. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience overshadows the quality of the food in such a way that we would probably not go back. We had reservations, so we were seated almost immediately, then we waited almost 13 minutes before anybody even talked to us to take any kind of drink order. Now keep in mind this was a Thursday evening, no special holiday or anything like that, and there were a lot of servers around, so nobody seemed particularly overworked. Our food and appetizer got dropped off, and we ordered our dinner, which arrived promptly and, like I already stated, was delicious. Another issue was that we were about halfway through with our meal before our waitress stopped by to ask how it was. If we had had any issues with our food, the other person would have been done eating before any kind of correction was even made. Our drinks were empty before the waitress asked if we wanted anything else to drink, which anybody with service experience knows that it shouldn't get lower than a quarter before you at least ask if they're going to want another one. The waitress was friendly enough although she had on too much perfume, and her service wasn't terrible. It just wasn't good. Also, they sell themselves as a kind of fine dining romantic atmosphere experience, but their table layout is anything but. We were seated just to the right of the main entrance at a row of tables in between rows of booths, so all night, we had people constantly walking back and forth around both sides of our table. If you wanted to be an intimate fine dining experience you need to take out that entire row of tables and put in a partition so that the people seated in the booths don't feel like they're eating at a Denny's. The atmosphere does not match the quality nor the price of the food. We paid $200 for an amazing meal, but it felt like we were eating at some mid-tier comfort food diner. I understand that you're trying to get as many seats as possible in order to make as much money as possible, but if you did some rearranging you could easily give this place a more upper class feel to match the food. I absolutely do not mind paying the price that we did for the quality of the food that we received, but the atmosphere makes it not worth going back for. If you do find yourself coming here, I can not say enough good things about their Chilean sea bass. It was flavorful and buttery...
Read moreI used to eat here all the time with my family. Had a bad experience with the food in 2019 so I didn't go back because it grossed me out. I received a gift card recently so I decided to go and try it again. It has been some time, so I figured why not. The food is HIGHLY over rated. The server was nice and the atmosphere was beautiful with the dimmed lights and Christmas decorations, but I am there mainly for the food and was disappointed. I ordered the Filet mignon medallions with marsala sauce. The medallions were 2 every tiny, very flat pieces of meat that they tried to play off as 6 oz. The marsala sauce was a joke. It was really thick and chunky like homemade flour gravy. I almost told the waiter he brought me pot roast by accident or something. Then realized, nope, this is their marsala sauce. No flavor, need salt too, just Terrible. $33 for this! Italian and steak are some of my top favorite foods so I know how everything should taste and look. I am from North Jersey where you can get some of the best Italian food and this doesn't even come close. If you paid $33 for a plate, it was because you also got a river view of NYC and a 5 star dining experience. The garlic mashed potatoes were good but they tasted like box potatoes. The fried onions were my favorite of everything. For the price you pay, this place is not worth it. You are paying for ambience if anything. My husband ordered sausage and peppers. Well it looked like they just dumped a jar of sauce on his food bc it did not look like typical sausage and peppers. You couldn't even see what he was eating bc of all the sauce. I had a $50 gift card and the total for my husand and I with tip was 95 dollars. (My gift card was $50) Our server never asked if our food came out good so I just kept it to myself Though, I wish I said something. I just wanted to have a nice night out with my husband since we rarely have time. It is Outrageous to pay so much, when we didn't even get dessert and our app was a salad. I did tip 20% bc the waiter seemed new and I didn't want to discourage him. He was very nice. Plus, not his fault the food was terrible. That's on...
Read moreI've been suffering from depression, from lifes unexpected situations. I'm new to the area and I'm a native from Maryland.
When I looked at the menu it had CRAB DIP on it.. I ordered immediately, I immediately contacted friends and family I've finally found it.. Crab dip just like home.
Oh the flavor was so like home, I just needed a sprinkle or 2 of Old bay(CRAB LOVER)
I ordered spaghetti 🍝 and meat balls, I'm not a bread eater but the freshness of the bread was unbelievable.
My server on the other hand overlooked me quite a bit. As much as I tried to not believe this it was very obvious. I was never given a run down of what was available to me. As another waiter gave a very knowledgeable run down to her guest, of food selections, drinks 🍹 etc. But not me, I wasn't asked if I wanted marinara sauce or meat sauce. Someone else came from the back and asked who ordered spaghetti 🍝? Not the lady that was intentionally overlooking me. I saw all of the other waiters fully engaged with their guest while I was being looked. While my waiter continued to serve guest that were previously seated before me. She brought them more bread(which I thought was mine but it wasn't)
The couple beside me noticed and asked if I was ok? By then I simply asked for a box, as I was no longer hungry.
I said to the guest beside me, I never get to come to beautiful places like this as I work 6 day's out of 7 while suffering from depression. I fought through it was finally going to treat myself.
The food was amazing, and I will come again soon with grand parents and family however, I don't want that particular individual to serve me again. So, when I signed my receipt I left her a note. Depression will be a lot easier with nicer ppl waiting on others. You never know what other's are enduring, so let's not take a smiling face for granted. And ask them what would they like to have verses just...
