So I'll start off by saying this is some of the best food I've had in a long time. Each dish was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the food was prepared quickly enough that we didn't ever feel like we were waiting for it. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience overshadows the quality of the food in such a way that we would probably not go back. We had reservations, so we were seated almost immediately, then we waited almost 13 minutes before anybody even talked to us to take any kind of drink order. Now keep in mind this was a Thursday evening, no special holiday or anything like that, and there were a lot of servers around, so nobody seemed particularly overworked. Our food and appetizer got dropped off, and we ordered our dinner, which arrived promptly and, like I already stated, was delicious. Another issue was that we were about halfway through with our meal before our waitress stopped by to ask how it was. If we had had any issues with our food, the other person would have been done eating before any kind of correction was even made. Our drinks were empty before the waitress asked if we wanted anything else to drink, which anybody with service experience knows that it shouldn't get lower than a quarter before you at least ask if they're going to want another one. The waitress was friendly enough although she had on too much perfume, and her service wasn't terrible. It just wasn't good. Also, they sell themselves as a kind of fine dining romantic atmosphere experience, but their table layout is anything but. We were seated just to the right of the main entrance at a row of tables in between rows of booths, so all night, we had people constantly walking back and forth around both sides of our table. If you wanted to be an intimate fine dining experience you need to take out that entire row of tables and put in a partition so that the people seated in the booths don't feel like they're eating at a Denny's. The atmosphere does not match the quality nor the price of the food. We paid $200 for an amazing meal, but it felt like we were eating at some mid-tier comfort food diner. I understand that you're trying to get as many seats as possible in order to make as much money as possible, but if you did some rearranging you could easily give this place a more upper class feel to match the food. I absolutely do not mind paying the price that we did for the quality of the food that we received, but the atmosphere makes it not worth going back for. If you do find yourself coming here, I can not say enough good things about their Chilean sea bass. It was flavorful and buttery...

I used to eat here all the time with my family. Had a bad experience with the food in 2019 so I didn't go back because it grossed me out. I received a gift card recently so I decided to go and try it again. It has been some time, so I figured why not. The food is HIGHLY over rated. The server was nice and the atmosphere was beautiful with the dimmed lights and Christmas decorations, but I am there mainly for the food and was disappointed. I ordered the Filet mignon medallions with marsala sauce. The medallions were 2 every tiny, very flat pieces of meat that they tried to play off as 6 oz. The marsala sauce was a joke. It was really thick and chunky like homemade flour gravy. I almost told the waiter he brought me pot roast by accident or something. Then realized, nope, this is their marsala sauce. No flavor, need salt too, just Terrible. $33 for this! Italian and steak are some of my top favorite foods so I know how everything should taste and look. I am from North Jersey where you can get some of the best Italian food and this doesn't even come close. If you paid $33 for a plate, it was because you also got a river view of NYC and a 5 star dining experience. The garlic mashed potatoes were good but they tasted like box potatoes. The fried onions were my favorite of everything. For the price you pay, this place is not worth it. You are paying for ambience if anything. My husband ordered sausage and peppers. Well it looked like they just dumped a jar of sauce on his food bc it did not look like typical sausage and peppers. You couldn't even see what he was eating bc of all the sauce. I had a $50 gift card and the total for my husand and I with tip was 95 dollars. (My gift card was $50) Our server never asked if our food came out good so I just kept it to myself Though, I wish I said something. I just wanted to have a nice night out with my husband since we rarely have time. It is Outrageous to pay so much, when we didn't even get dessert and our app was a salad. I did tip 20% bc the waiter seemed new and I didn't want to discourage him. He was very nice. Plus, not his fault the food was terrible. That's on...

I've been suffering from depression, from lifes unexpected situations. I'm new to the area and I'm a native from Maryland.

When I looked at the menu it had CRAB DIP on it.. I ordered immediately, I immediately contacted friends and family I've finally found it.. Crab dip just like home.

Oh the flavor was so like home, I just needed a sprinkle or 2 of Old bay(CRAB LOVER)

I ordered spaghetti 🍝 and meat balls, I'm not a bread eater but the freshness of the bread was unbelievable.

My server on the other hand overlooked me quite a bit. As much as I tried to not believe this it was very obvious. I was never given a run down of what was available to me. As another waiter gave a very knowledgeable run down to her guest, of food selections, drinks 🍹 etc. But not me, I wasn't asked if I wanted marinara sauce or meat sauce. Someone else came from the back and asked who ordered spaghetti 🍝? Not the lady that was intentionally overlooking me. I saw all of the other waiters fully engaged with their guest while I was being looked. While my waiter continued to serve guest that were previously seated before me. She brought them more bread(which I thought was mine but it wasn't)

The couple beside me noticed and asked if I was ok? By then I simply asked for a box, as I was no longer hungry.

I said to the guest beside me, I never get to come to beautiful places like this as I work 6 day's out of 7 while suffering from depression. I fought through it was finally going to treat myself.

The food was amazing, and I will come again soon with grand parents and family however, I don't want that particular individual to serve me again. So, when I signed my receipt I left her a note. Depression will be a lot easier with nicer ppl waiting on others. You never know what other's are enduring, so let's not take a smiling face for granted. And ask them what would they like to have verses just...

My husband and I visited Luigi's for the first time this past Friday. Our server, Virginia, was genuinely outstanding and very knowledgeable of the menu, offering suggestions based on a couple questions we'd had. We started with the bread, which tasted so fresh and was so fluffy. The balsamic and oil was a delicious combination with the bread. As an appetizer, Virginia told us that the fried ravioli and pomodoro was the special for the night, which we chose. It was so good, the pomodoro was stellar and the raviolis tasted homemade. We also got a glass of wine each, a pinot grigio for my husband and a Moscato d'Asti for myself. Easily two of the best wines we've had in a long time. For our entrees, I nearly got the crab stuffed tilapia, but when Virginia mentioned the risotto with beef (I can't remember the dish's name), I decided on that (without the mushrooms). It came hot with the most tender beef. It was amazing. I'd never had risotto before, but my god... the bar is high after this experience. My husband got the baked penne pasta with the addition of meatballs. He enjoyed his food and mentioned that the meatballs tasted *almost* as good as his Italian grandmother's recipe (that's a good thing). My only complaint is that the crowd WILL bombard the front door before the restaurant actually opens so we recommend having a reservation. All in all, we had a great experience and highly recommend Virginia. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly professional and kind, to include the hosts we interacted with. We will definitely be returning.

I'm a foodie, I new York Italian food snob. Ask anyone that knows me. Moved to CLT from NY 10 years after 10 years I'm happy to say that I finally found real Italian food near Charlotte except it's two and a half hours away.Front staff was so cool, so top notch. After eating in absolute wonderful feast, I decided to order out a couple pizzas for my family my girls a week ish after dining inside...Omg, not only world class food, this is like Charleston SC service. Treated like a king once the door opens. For a takeout!. The Fluffy crusty tuscan-like pizza came out my stomach was rumbling to get it back to the hotel. Just then the manager walks by asked me how I'm doing after checking my order.. she actually did not hear me or Miss took what I said is a criticism and offered to cop my takeout. When in fact I was really asking just to buy more pizza is I needed more of these were too small. The manager right then took that as a knock apparently or didn't hear me right and instantly inform me she was copying my food and whatever else I wanted to add. I probably should have let it go but I had to walk back up to the manager and explain that no I wasn't criticizing I actually wanted more pizza. I'm actually still here writing the review honestly I don't think they're going to charge me but after telling them the pizza looked amazing we wanted more, I could care less whether they charge me not thank you so much! This pizza is amazing but it's a Tuscan Style real Pizza connoisseurs enjoy.. Nope ,didn't charge me. Wow.

On Friday January 26 My wife and I ate here for our third time. We brought our Daughter and her husband here also. As usual it was above the Top in service and food. I had the 14oz Rib-eye with garlic mashed potatoes and as always it was cooked to perfection. My wife of course had the Pork Chop also with Garlic mashed potatoes which also was perfection. It's a proven fact the Pork chop being large as it is definitely can be cut with a fork. Superb food no doubt. We of course had a reservation which I highly recommend lest you might have a two hour wait if lucky. The lady server was above attentive as always. Great atmosphere however because we had four people and our time was six pm we were set in sight of the bar. I don't recommend this being our age it was very noisy. Our next visit I will ask for a less public area. This would be my only complaint however I find this to be a minor discomfort. I will state the food here is well worth it and in my opinion is above the standards of Angus Barn in Raleigh which was our to go spot. Our guests also had the ribeye and porkchop and found them to be above par. I can't wait for our fourth visit and highly recommend this great establishment. Also I recommend the fudge and ice cream ''volcano'' for desert. Two people can hardly finish.
