Was just here. Please do not trust all the 5 star reviews you read. I'm willing to bet they are left by friends/family. I read some of the 1 star reviews, and they are SPOT ON. The thin noodle they serve with jjam pong and jjay jang myun are totally wrong. The jja jang myun sauce is an all to familiar supermarket instant powder sauce mix. The jjam pong broth has extremely little flavor, just nuked with pepper. The sweet n sour pork was ok. The fried rice was ok. Regardless of what you order, everything on the menu is just very very bland. Service was good. The lady, presumably the owner, was nice. But I can't recommend a restaurant based on kindness. If you're a fan of American styled Chinese food, you won't like this place. If you're a fan of Korean styled Chinese food, you will find this place to be somewhat of an inspiring to be great, but falling short of glory type of place. And also beware, they charge 20% service fee. They did for us, and it was my wife, my two parents, my 4 year old son and myself. Four adults and a kid. We ordered 6 dishes. I've heard of places charging service fees for larger parties e.g. 6+ And it's usually 18%, not 20% like this place. Also, before you say kids in a restaurant makes for tougher service, don't even. That's if your kid is badly behaved.

My grade: Flavor F Service B+ Price D Cleanliness A Freshness of ingredients A Parking B-

Verdict: I do...

B Won is not your typical Chinese restaurant; instead, it specializes in Korean-Chinese cuisine. With high expectations, I ventured in to try their offerings, but unfortunately, I left disappointed.

Black bean noodles (Jjajangmyeon) lacked the rich flavor I anticipated. The black bean sauce was watery and had a burnt taste, which three of us noticed. It seemed overcooked and slightly burnt.

Jjamppong had a decent level of spiciness but was missing the rich and deep seafood flavor that characterizes this dish. While it did contain a generous amount of seafood, the taste fell short.

The Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork) was okay, but the meat had somewhat dry texture.

Additional observations:

Service: The lone server (a lady) was attentive and friendly, which was the highlight of the experience. Food: Below average, lacking the rich and deep flavors expected in the dishes I ordered. Price: Slightly above average compared to similar restaurants in the area, with smaller portions. Restroom: Clean. Parking: Located in a small mall area, the restaurant offers ample parking spaces.

Overall, while the service was commendable, the food at B Won Restaurant did not meet...

Ordered the classic combo, jjajangmeon (black bean noodles), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and tangsuyuk (fried sweet and sour pork). Jjajangmeon was a bit light on flavor (but similar to a lot of places I've had it), not a lot of pork, but portion was grand. Jjamppong was perfect - even bigger portion (lots of soup which I liked), super flavorful, actually a touch spicy (not too spicy but the ideal amount of kick to it that I don't usually get in this at other places), and had lots of seafood (mussels, octo/squid, etc.). Tangsuyuk was surprisingly flavorful (better than others I've had) and crispy. Sauce was too sweet for my liking but standard to any other place. There was a sweet lady taking our order, and we would come back again just to give them service - so it's a delight that the food is something I would return for in a heartbeat! Service was also really fast (we arrived and put in a takeout order, got food back in about 10-15 min it felt like). Resto was pretty empty when we arrived during a meal time on a weekend though so please go support these smaller businesses, where older folks are working so hard to...

You know a place is LEGIT when you only see Koreans at a Korean-Chinese restaurant. If that’s not enough to persuade you, the waitress is the friendly second mama you’ll ever meet. We tried this restaurant on a whim and it was the best spicy seafood noodles I’ve ever eaten EVER. It legit tastes like the delivery spicy noodle place that we had at my grandmas house in Korea. To have spicy noodles that taste almost identical to the ones in Korea? That hardly ever happens.. and B won made it happen. We live in Tacoma and will make the drive up here just to eat here and get another to go. Their portion sizes are so generous too!!! Their fried dumplings are also great. But their sweet and sour pork/beef is also BOMB. It’s been a long time since I’ve found a great Korean-Chinese restaurant such as B Won. And trust me, I’ve tried the places in LA, Atlanta, NYC. This place blows all of them out of the water! If you’re wondering what Korean-Chinese food tastes like in Korea, this place is it.

So good! We had stir-fried jjajangmyeon, jjampong, tangsooyook, fried rice, and spicy chili shrimp. Everything was delicious! The noodles were perfectly chewy, the jjampong was seriously amazing with so much seafood, tangsooyook was crispy and not too sweet, and the shrimp was flavorful with just the right amount of spice. My cousins visiting from Korea were super impressed and they even said it was better than some places back home! The owner was so kind, and the waitress took such good care of us. When we asked for sauces on the side, they happily accommodated us, which made the meal even better. We felt really comfortable and enjoyed every bite. Definitely coming back!
