It says it's a Chinese place and while they do do some typical Chinese American dishes here the Korean food is where it's at! Extremely delicious. I got the pork jjajangmyeun and a double order of the king dumplings. The king dumplings are enormous and come with 4 pieces so definite value there. The noodle entrees of korean food are excellent and my jjajangmyeun was no exception.
Pro tip: When you order an entree of a noodle dish you will get roughly a 1/3rd to 1/2 the portion of sauce for takeout. So if you want to save a few bucks then just order a full "extra sauce" for $10 and make your own noodles you can get enough sauce to easily make 3 to 4 meals. If you don't want to save the money but want max value then order the extra sauce for 10 and then just get extra noodles. Im not certain on the portion size of the noodles alone but the sauce is where its at!
Also make sure you ask for kimchi as it may not come with your entree for takeout! But they will include plenty of the yellow...
Read moreFirst, I want to say that this place has gone downhill here over the years, especially their customer service, specifically the owner in her late 50s with long black hair. Every time we order a few meals. She only gives us one napkin per dish. The worst is when we ask her for more napkins. She would provide us with a disgusting look and count out one napkin. Remember, the average meal is about $18-$26. With that price, it should include more than (1) napkin. Then again, she is probably prejudiced; this only happens when we go with our friends who have darker skin tones. And I noticed she's very friendly and sociable with customers with fair skin. With that said, we only experience this disgusting and stinginess when we are with our friends. Words advice for the old Asian with long black hair: you should try to see all people's nationality as money because hustles would never discriminate against any form...

As for the food, our visit was a mixed bag. The compound chicken, while visually appealing, lacked the bold flavors we hoped for, pleasant but forgettable. The eggplant stir-fry followed suit: tender texture, but missing the depth and seasoning that could have made it shine.
Surprisingly, the orange chicken stood out with richer, more layered flavors and a satisfying finish.
While the dishes didn’t quite hit the mark, the service alone makes Malri Hyang worth a visit. With a few tweaks to seasoning and flavor balance, the kitchen could easily match the excellence of the...
