Found this hidden gem tucked away next to an old strip mall along Pacific Hwy. From the outside the place looks sketchy as hell with the bars over the windows, but I got a completely different impression once I poked my head inside and saw how quaintly decorated it is. It's very clean and fresh with the subtle hominess of grandma's living room. A very extensive Thai menu is offered, from which we chose one $13.95 lunch combo of Pad Thai with chicken, and a second lunch combo of Red Curry Shrimp stir-fry which hit all the marks. We also enjoyed appetizers of Crab Wontons and Coconut Shrimp. For beverages, it was a nice glass of Chardonnay for my wife, and delicious Iced Thai Coffee for myself. Service was friendly, prompt and unrushed. Menu prices are very fair and a good value for the quality of the overall experience. The atmospheree was nicely quiet with classical music in the background, soft enough to not compete with our table conversation. Menu prices are very fair with good value for the quality of the overall experience. I'm rating this restaurant as "outstanding" compared to any other restaurant in the area and we will definitely return. 👍

Kwan Tip Thai is a decent restaurant for Thai dishes. I usually order chicken or beef Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Basil Fried Rice. Sometimes, I ordered the Crispy Trout with Salad. All are pretty good. The papaya salad needs some improvement. The restaurant calls it Laos-style papaya salad, served with shredded papaya, tomato, carrot, and cabbage. There is no crab paste, no lime taste (not sour), and it is super salty. That's not the Laos style I had at other Laos/ Thai restaurants. The fried chicken wings would go well with the papaya salad, but it's chewy and needs more seasoning. We got the sticky rice, and it's always good. My wife and I order food from Kwan Tip Thai regularly, and I wish they could make improvements in the cooking and the attention to detail when taking customers' orders. We phone-ordered the beef pad see ew, for example and got the chicken pad see ew instead.

Now: ☆☆☆ I wanted to reach out to share my recent experience with your restaurant. I first discovered your place a few months ago and have genuinely enjoyed your chicken Pad Thai; it’s become one of my go-to dishes. I’ve ordered it about 3-4 times, and it’s always been a treat! My first review had 5 stars However, on my recent order on Sunday, October 27, via Uber Eats, I was a bit disappointed. The chicken pieces were much smaller and sparser than usual, making it difficult to find and enjoy them throughout the dish. Additionally, I found a piece of tofu, which seemed unusual, as I hadn’t ordered it with tofu. I’d love to continue supporting your restaurant, so I wanted to pass along this feedback in the hope that it’s helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to enjoying more meals with you soon!

If I could put a zero I would. The host/waiter was on his phone the entire time. When my friend asked questions about the menu, the waiter did not know and the woman I assume is a manager/owned responded to my friend with a very harsh tone. The meal my friend ordered was very chewy and 1 out of 4 pieces of our chicken satay was not fully cooked. When my friend pointed out one piece of chicken satay was not fully cooked and the chewy chicken of her main meal, the manager got the chef who then grabbed the piece off her plate and berated my friend, waving it in her face, saying that the color was because of the sauce despite the others being fully cooked and white. When my friend's mother interjected the "chef" waved her hand in her face and said she wasn't talking to her. The chef also yelled at her about her meal choice if she wasn't going to like it. The wontons were soaked in oil and over fried, the pot stickers tasted pre-made and frozen, the fish cakes were the consistency of an eraser. The prices were not worth the quality of the food and no price makes the service experience we...

Currently getting yelled at by the chief because my raw chicken Was sent back she then picked the food up off my plate with her bare hands to examine it. Then when she saw the pink slimy texture she tried to make the excuse it was sauce injected into it. After stating the other orders where not like that she then started attacking me with comments about my actual oder. Then when another person in our party tried to explain what was happening she waved her hand in their face exclaiming I'm talking to her, not you. After the CHIEF continued to raise her voice and cut people off she grabbed a menu to prove a point, when the menu did not say what she claimed she went silent thew it down and stormed back into the kitchen. It's one thing to have food not properly prepared, and sometime menu misunderstandings happen but to have the chief come out and behaive on such a way and to allow it is acceptable. If you want customers you need a good attitude or good food , this place...
