I came here during the summer & this place is trully a scam. Highly disappointed.
You get in & there is no server to be found; you & your guests have to look and follow someone to get service.
The lounge is empty, yet they squeeze you & your guests to one corner of the resturaunt where it is already found to be full. (No events were occuring btw & this was during the afternoon).
The tables were found dirty & sticky. and YET they will place you and your guests there. If you ask to be placed elsewhere, they act like they didnt hear you. I had to request it to be cleaned before evening sitting down. Red flag #1
Red flag #2: You order your meal & the prices that are listed on the menu is NOT the same as what they charge you.
They upcharge the items ordered & when confronted, they act like they don't know. They said that their menu may be outdated with some items--- basi is that not the resturaunt's responsibility to update it?? Another issue is how they are so pushy for a tip BEFORE the food is served, yet nobody is available when they are needed.
Imagine driving down almost 2hrs away + dealing with traffic thinking this would be a taste of "home away from home", & trusting the delish- pictures & good reviews only to be met with a scam of a resturaunt!
Alafu, the next part is the food. The food tasted good, BUT if you order multiple plates + a side they dont give everything that was ordered. They remove parts of the original plate & then add your sides onto the same plate. Ontop of that, the serving portions are not the same as advertised-- this is what was the most disapointing, cause you will eat & STILL have to have a second meal cause its so unsatisfying.
If the resturaunt is lacking in food, they should say so instead of making someone think they will recieve what they ordered.
The vibe: People starring at others as if they haven't seen another human being + listening to backbitting gossip from adults in their 30- 40's-- Imagine? Its one thing to talk amongst each other, but I couldn't even hear the guest across from me without hearing the table next to me wakichongoa watu.
Hakuna chill vibe huko. It's giving "high school" & very disorganized.
The bathrooms-- triffling. Matapiko (vomit) on the floor & blood on the walls. The stench was worse than the dumpsters itself.
Sielewi how a resturaunt can function like this. If you dont care for quality & just want to drink, this may be fitting, but the resturaunt side of this establishment is very atrocious.
AVOID WASTING YOUR MONEY HERE.
Update / Response to Owner: My responses were genuine, but you as the owner should take negative reviews and make them into positive ones (as constructive critisism).
The fact that an owner of the resturaunt responded with spite, speaks volumes about the type of environment that is hosted in that environment.
I never intended to write a review, but was reminded by a friend that was looking into coming to the resturaunt, but suddenly had ptsd & felt the need to warn others of the dishonest & filth that was found in this establishment.
Regarding the vibes of the environment, it was not towards myself but it was how I saw majority of what looked like regulars (they know they servers & spoke for a long time) spoke like. None the less, the environment is not peaceful.
I dont want to bring a guest and all that is heard is spitefulness about every single person that walks into the door.
Another thing, the majority of the building is a lounge (on the left), but the actual resturaunt is a small corner in the right side of the resturaunt. When one requests to be seated at the lounge, they are pushed away from one side & forced to be crammed into filthy tables. This is how your servers operate-- i was just being honest. There were other groups that came in that shortly left because of the lack of service.
I loved this place more when there was a young chubby guy...so upset that I forgot his name. He was so friendly with an amazing service. I remember, the first time I visited Lims, he greeted me and my friends like he already knew us. He found us a seat and got our orders without rushing us. He continued checking up on us all night making sure we was good. And that continued until a few weeks ago. If you reading this young man, thank you. I do love Lims, the BIGGEST PROBLEM is the music. Am from Zambia, I always enjoy the first hour and half, maybe 2 hours... but it becomes about KENYANS.. We end up feeling lost. Maybe i don't get it, is it specifically for KENYANS? Enlighten me. My review is to help y'all improve, don't rush to be on the defensive, just improve if you have to. Weekend of October 10th, 2025.. I came in with Rachel Kundananji, one of the highest paid female soccer players in the world... we didn't get a good service i guess because you was short staffed...but it was a Saturday y'all ... I apologized on yours behalf, but finally, the only waitress I believe came to the rescue after a 30minutes or more wait. She apologized and finally took our order and she brought our drinks fast and apologized again. I like her. All in all, I love Lims, please treat us non Kenyans good. Oh, to every Kenyan reading this, stop speaking Swahili to everyone that walks into this club...lol. love y'all...
Read moreThe two young guys who are there serve by favoring. Came one day to buy mutura they told me it was sold out. Got out and sent someone else, surprisingly they came with 2 uncut mutura’s. Came another time the guy was busy on his phone watching some videos, looked at me and ignored my presence, continued with what he was doing. A lady young lady walked in he served her before me. I ordered Nyama, mutura, sausage, kachumbari and ugali. Was given Mutura na kachumbari. Paid for the two and walked out. If your servers don’t want to work, then tell them not to show their frustration on customers. It’s a trade i buy your products(Food) and services(good customer service) and i pay and next time i will come. But if it takes 30minutes to sell me 2sausages. How many minutes will it take if i was dinning in? When the business was at 341st street the customer service was great. Now that you have expanded the services have...
