Jimmy's Kitchen — Restaurant in Fenwick Island

Overall not a good experience and would not return or recommend. The waitress was rude and uncaring not sure if she was having a bad or just over it. We overheard her saying her last day is less than a week away. Still when you're on the clock shouldn't be checked out. She was rushing us and told me I couldn't let the people in my party orders go in first since they were hungry and ready to eat while I figured out what I could put together with my diet restrictions. So I said forget it I won't eat just so she wouldn't up everyone else's order. Then when the food came our two people ordered white toast one came toasted the other looked like bread which shouldn't have been a big deal to correct but not with our rude waitress she said it was put through the toaster... clearly it didn't look like it and we had to specifically ask for it to be toasted again to which she rolled her eyes and let out a sigh and said I guess we they can put it back through the toaster. I'm not sure if that was a problem since my daughter had touched it but the waitress brought it right back looking the same like they did nothing to it. The manager when I spoke to him was sympathetic when I explained I wasn't trying to split the check and eas paying in cash he said he didn't understand why the waitress said I couldn't order after and you could order at any time. He also offered to cover the check which was thoughtful however we weren't trying to get a free meal so I paid. The experience was already ruined can't go back in time and fix that waitresses attitude.

We broke our normal pattern of breakfast spots during our vacation and decided to visit Jimmy's Kitchen for our first time ever. I read online that Jimmy made his creamed chipped beef (SOS) every day, home made in house. This attracted me to this spot right away..When we arrived,there was about a 20 minute wait for a seat, and told me right away that the wait would be worth it. We were not disappointed!! The food was absolutely outstanding!! The coffee was delicious!! And Jimmy's chipped beef was PHENOMENAL!!! My family loved everything they ordered. The staff was very friendly, efficient at their work, and attentive.

The environment was very comfortable yet eclectic. I loved the artwork collection that decored the walls and I felt quite "at home". I dream one day I too would be able to open my own restaurant one day, and Jimmy nailed my own aspirations.. Often times we fine too many places that offer SOS or sausage gravy - and it comes out of a can....I make a mean gravy myself..and I always said; breakfast gravies should be fresh, and home made...Never canned or bagged!! I loved my experience at Jimmy's and seeing everything he has done has further fueled my own fire to follow my dream too!!

My only suggestion to make it all even better, is to simply update the bathrooms. Other than that, EVERYTHING about JIMMY'S KITCHEN...

We love, love, love, Jimmy’s breakfast menu & how they prepare it. My personal favorite is corned beef hash with two poached on top. & I get rye toast to go with it. To show you the way Jimmy cares about his customer’s & service one time when I ordered this breakfast I was served very quickly & one of my poached eggs looked very small because a lot of the white part of the egg was missing, which happens some times when being poached, but before I could finish eating the other perfectly poached egg that came with it, here comes Jimmy from the kitchen with a cup in his hand & inside it was a perfectly poached egg replacement for my one missing most of the white part. Jimmy who doesn’t know me from Adam stated “I brought you a better poached egg because the one I gave you was a little beat up looking!” How’s that for caring about you customers with a packed house & people waiting outside to get in? He didn’t need to worry about losing me as a customer as he has tons yet he thought enough to bring me a perfectly poached egg to replace the not so great one. I love his quick in & out Sunshine motif little breakfast restaurant with Jimmy as the Master Line Cook & all his staff which are always polite & amazingly speedy too. Five Stars from this...
