Georgia Smoke - So good, I took it to-go 600 miles away!
There’s something sacred happening at Georgia Smoke in Fernandina Beach. You can smell it before you even step inside — that slow, rich smoke curling through the air like a promise. And when you finally sit down to eat, it delivers something far deeper than just a good meal.
The pulled pork? It’s tender beyond belief, kissed with just the right balance of smoke and seasoning. The ribs fall off the bone like they’ve been waiting their whole lives for you. But the Swinebird… that’s where the magic really lives — a genius combo of pork and chicken that somehow says more about Southern soul than words ever could.
Then there's the heart behind it all: Brennan, and Chris — two men who don’t just run a pit; they’ve built something bigger. They’re not just serving food — they’re serving purpose. Their steadfast support for the military community runs deep. From honoring veterans to welcoming active-duty service members like family, their respect is real, and it shows in every gesture, every plate, every thank-you.
Georgia Smoke doesn’t ask for your attention with flash. It earns it — with smoke, with craft, with heart. If you're anywhere near Fernandina Beach, do yourself a favor. Go. Eat. And feel what it’s like when someone puts everything they believe in into every bite.
A huge thank you to Georgia Smoke, all the way from...
Read moreWow! I stumbled upon this place by accident, I saw the name on the storefront and we Google searched it out of curiosity, only to find it was a BBQ restaurant! Being a huge BBQ nerd I was impressed with the menu offerings and positive reviews so on our last day on the island we ordered up the family meal for lunch, and boy do I hate that we didn't find it sooner! The brisket was moist and tender, the brussel sprouts were mighty tasty, but the standouts for us were the mac and cheese and the swine bird (chicken and pork belly mix). The mac and cheese is probably the best I've ever had! The meal deal is an awesome value and you get tons of sauces, bread, and all the stuff you need to chow down. The owner was kind enough to give me a jar of the smoked pecans which I plan on using to top some smoked cream cheese with hot honey. We'll be back next time we visit Amelia Island,...
Read moreBEYOND, BEYOND, BEYOND OMG! I haven’t even finished my dinner yet—but just HAD to write a review cuz I haven’t been as wowed by a take-out place in….well, EVER! Will Ferrell would say this food is scrumtrulescent! I ordered 1/2 order each of: ribs, brussel sprouts and cornbread Mac! All equally mouth-watering—and NOT too greasy. The portions are huge. I could only eat one meaty rib and there are SIX left. And the Georgia Smoke side sauces—to live for! I got the sweet and the mustard and mixed them together for the perfect sweet tang. Georgia Smoke has only been open for a bit more than 6 months and the owner is trying to secure the empty space next door for seating etc. These brothers have got it all going on. I expect to see multiple seated locations within 5...
