Was my goto canvas company until they dropped my flybridge panel in the water.
Wanted them to put in a brand new zipper for the tear drop which they have done before. A week later I ran into the crew who performs the actual install and when asked they told me they didn't have my panel. 3 hours later they came to my boat and told me they lost the panel in the water. Needless to say I was pretty upset as it seems they weren't very truthful when I first talked to them.
Called Amy and she was very unprofessional about the situation. She couldn't under why I was so upset and she said "they loose things all the time like phones, drills, tools, etc" and chuckled about it. Not sure what was so funny about this conversation.
Techs came out to measure for a replacement panel. Came back a week later and the tear drop tabs to hook it to the flybridge hardtop didn't line up even after patterning it. Was told they will take it back and remake it. They even took a pattern of the other panel on the opposite side. Came back after a couple of weeks and phone call to find out the status. Panel was put in place and didn't match the other side resulting in a smaller tear drop but the tabs did line up!
I'm very disappointed in Topstitch who I have used for almost 6 years. Very unprofessional and can't seem to pattern...
Read moreIt took nearly 3 months for them to "complete" a new dodger job. At first the excuse was that they needed to order a material color sample which I wanted while they just could drive through the boat and get it. Then just too many calls without response and many emails until it got rushed, employees got overstressed as we had to leave the US because of expiring visas. At the end - I regret that I went for a bit higher dodger because they made the windows too big and the shade and rain protection area got reduced a lot. Also eventually some support is missing (as straps were not enough after a while) which will take some time and I can't use simple jaws slides for vertical support as the frame is bent and hinged ones might chafe canvas from inside. Overall, definitely not worth of $2600 for...
Read moreTopstitch has done several repairs for me, nearly all very satisfactorily. Some of the stitching in my old flybridge enclosure pieces had deteriorated. The recent hurricanes loosened them still more. I brought in four pieces for restitching. One also had a tear. The repairs looked good when I picked them up. But, the piece with the tear that they repaired will no longer fit on the boat. It ranges from 1/2" to 3/4" short all along the line of snap fasteners.
I wrote to customer service, but they disclaimed any responsibility, blaming cold weather and rolling up the piece. I was told that further repairs would be billable and that they did not restitch that piece, but only...
