Delicious homestyle burger and fries! The place is funky and eclectic with lots of random trinkets and sports memorabilia which gives it a very cool vibe. We stopped in during the breakfast to lunch transition (they don't serve or take orders for about 30 mins) so we grabbed a drink and waited. As soon it got close to 11:30 the line started forming and the phone was ringing off the hook. The locals already know the schedule so they were ready. I got the daily lunch special which was fried shrimp and my husband got the Big T-Ray Burger combo. The shrimp was softly fried and they were a pretty large size. It came with fries and Cole slaw but you could swap sides as well. Overall it was a great meal. I had a bite of my husband's burger and now that was fantastic! I could taste the seasoning which had a pretty distinct Old Bay flavor to it. I wish I had gotten that instead! It was the perfect size and was seriously delicious. Good food at a reasonable price but just keep in mind about the wait time during the breakfast to lunch transition. Also, the lady who didn't really greet us wasn't the friendliest in the world considering this place's reputation or explain to us how to place an order so we had to figure it out on our own. So we ended being like 6th in line instead of 2nd based on arrival times but the food came out very quickly so it was somewhat forgivable. To anyone who isn't a local, you have to wait line up and place your order then they will bring the food out to you versus someone taking your order at the table. Grab a cup from the counter for...

Here you can- Dine in @ the mini diner seating inside or al fresco at the picnic tables and outdoor seating tables, with friends, family, small groups or solo, for breakfast or lunch.

My ratings are based on a 5 star scale. Where 1 star is tragic and 5 star is Ouwww terrific!

Overall ratings- 5 stars! Customer service- 5 stars! Friendly & welcoming staff. Food portions- 5 stars. Generous size burgers at affordable prices. Food taste- 4.5 stars for a great traditional all American classic burger. No frills. Fresh fries (potato wedge like) A good classic Southern sweet tea. Ambiance- 4 stars. Southern small town diner with a fresh twist. Not exactly for people watching or meeting but enjoyable nonetheless. Not loud and comfortable. Great for families. Decor- 4.5 it's an old Gas station converted into a small diner. They did a great job. It's quaint, functional and With lots of charm. Very small town Americana! Adorable! All they needed were the rocking...

A local told us about this place. We went hoping to get breakfast but we had just missed it so we waited for lunch. We got burgers, chicken strips and fries. Overall the chicken was really good. The burger was nice and juice but lacked a little flavor. There was a mix up on order and the lady was very nice fixing it. Some of the locals that were eating there were very rude. Not surprising since we only meet maybe 3 nice locals which is sad. I'm using a cane and asked my husband to finish the trash but he had to carry a kid that feel asleep out so as I was trying to figure out how to carry everything a old man yelled at me to throw away my trash. Which not their fault but then some people came in and an employee rudely said "well if they would leave". Sorry it took me three trips to get everything in the trash using only one hand that was completely numb. Instead he should have said they are getting ready to leave or ask if I maybe...

Repurposed gas station that makes some of the best black eyed peas I have ever eaten (and I have lived all over the south). Many places don’t know how to make good collards. OMG delicious here! I don’t know where to start with the fried chicken. You get a choice between white or dark meat. I prefer dark because it’s more flavorful and usually moist. Home run at T-Rays! The rest of the table had white and all enjoyed it. The broccoli salad was perfect as was the slaw. Small container but definitely delicious. I almost forgot the delicious biscuits!!! Recommend this place to everyone. Don’t let the exterior put you off. The dive exterior belays the Gastro delight inside. I want to go back and try the shrimp. I overheard a client talking about the delicious hush puppies.

Googled places to eat in Fernadina Beach, and this one came up. The concept of it being an old gas station appealed to us, so we stopped. We were not disappointed. Old station with picnic tables outside. I thought parking was going to be an issue, but it wasn't. Yes, as we entered, we saw the long line, but as others have stated, it goes quick. You could tell there were many locals there, so that's always a good sign. The food was really good and at reasonable prices. I saw food on plates that I didn't see on the menu, so it looks like I missed looking at the daily specials. Overall, nice little spot. Would definitely stop again, when in the area, to try different menu items.

We've eaten here several times since moving to the area. It was recommended by a local while walking on the beach. The food is delicious. The ladies and staff are super sweet. We love eating outside. If we want lunch we have learned to come in around 11a. They take your name and invite you to a drink while you wait. For those who are complaining, this is island time. Chill out. Relax and slow down. This isn't the drive thru at a fast food joint. This is our go to. Today, the fish sandwich was delish as well as the salad with grilled Mahi. Hubby had the hot dogs. We've also had breakfast and equally delicious. Try it out.
