This was my first time dining at the “Patio”. We happen to arrive at around 130 and the brunch menu on Sunday goes until 3 o’clock . What drew me to this restaurant or the incredible pictures of all the different dishes that reviewers had placed online along with a Google 4.8 review score , which is incredible in the service industry. It was a little tough to find a parking place, but we managed to land one a block over and it was a great walk in the heart of Fernandina Beach to see all the old houses, B&B inns . There are so many really cool looking restaurants. Just one block off of Main Street. There was a crowd when we showed up and we were told to expect a 40 minute wait so we settled into the bar and decided to sit at the bar and eat, which was first come first serve. Hiedi brought us a peach, Bellini, and a Well, garnished, bloody Mary that was so good I had two. The menu was extensive for brunch, and I could’ve chosen a half a dozen items and I think been happy with any of them. Bridget, not both had a hamburger well done. My choice was the goat cheeseburger and Bridget chose the patio burger which came with a fried egg. Both burgers came with home fries and were cooked to order. It was fun sitting right next to the kitchen and watching all of the food come out. After seeing all of the Benedict dishes and versions of poached egg with hollandaise, I could’ve gone with any of those. The avocado toast looked especially delicious and the beet salad was extremely popular. The roast beef sandwich with ajou dipping sauce was a big seller also The facility was really neat along with the huge patio outside and live music. Fire pits, and circular couches made it all look so cozy. I’ll tell you what really turned me on was the picture of the rack lamb which one of the waitresses was kind enough to tell me that was not on the menu and was a specialty item for holidays and events Facility and venue I would give five stars Boring cocktails five stars Service I would have to give five stores and say that it was definitely a team effort with all of the waitresses running food whenever it came up. The food we had was very good if I could give it four stars I would, but only a couple of the small details kept it from being five that being the Friday egg on Bridget hamburger was well done, and I think it should’ve been runny And the avocado that came with the goat cheeseburger was not ripe and was extremely firm which kept me from enjoying it as much. There are so many options in Fernandina Beach to dine. I would definitely put this on my list of places to recommend with the caveat of try it and at least you can say you did, and if you like it, you can always go back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First of all, let me say that this place is adorable. The ambiance is amazing - love the patio and bistro lights and live music. They even have fans for outside which really helps with the heat. I ate here last night, August 10. Our server was very nice and personable. I just wish she was more attentive. When our food came, we had to hunt her down to get utensils and it took awhile because “they were out” which is odd for a restaurant serving dinner in a tourist market like this - I would think there would be plenty of utensils for patrons. My drink was not refilled until the end of my meal, so just a little more attention to details would be great. The real issue I had was with the food. I ordered the beef short ribs which was indicated on the menu as their specialty. When it came out, the plate was smudged with greasy fingerprints all over and really looked slopped together on the plate. It was also very cold. I flagged down the server to request it to be reheated and wow did it come back reheated. It burned my tongue (which I can still feel today!) and took at least 5 minutes to cool off to a reasonable temperature - there was literally smoke coming out of the meat when I cut into it. Now, for $29 for the plate, I’d expect not only better presentation but a little more vegetables. There were 5 pieces of vegetables in the “fresh vegetable side accompaniment” and they were undercooked at that. Thankfully the short ribs and potatoes were very good and a nice portion size. My boyfriend’s food was similar - taste was okay but presentation was awful. He paid $14 for a very small salad with an added protein and it was just slapped together. He requested an impossible burger meat to be added to his Caesar salad instead of chicken and the salad came out in a bowl with a large whole patty laying on top. He thought it would have been cut into strips like other proteins you could add to the salad and tossed in it, but it was basically Romaine lettuce, a little Parmesan cheese and dressing with an impossible patty covering it all up. Pretty basic, nothing special. All in all, I was disappointed because the reviews were so good and the experience was not the greatest. I looked around and other people looked like they had a nice meal in front of them so maybe we just got unlucky that day.

This was my first time dining at The Patio. I came with a party of four on a Thursday night around 7pm. After a short wait we were sat on the outdoor patio which was comfy, well shaded, and entertaining with live music. Our server, Erin, was helpful and offered great recommendations. They were out of their Drunken Cheesy Bread and Tomato Bisque which was disappointing. I’ve seen so many rave reviews about both and really was hoping to try it. Instead, we had the Black & Bleu Cauliflower Pizza. It came out relatively quickly and I’d give it a solid 8/10. The cauliflower crust was some of the best I’ve had - fluffy and wonderfully crispy. The braised short rib was tender and the balsamic reduction was a great way to cut the sharpness of the blue cheese dressing. I ordered a Mango Tango to enjoy while waiting for my entree. The drink had a spicy rim that reminded me of Old Bay seasoning. Not too spicy. The orange liqueur and mango came through but weren’t overly sweet. Entrees arrived around an hour after ordering which was longer than expected. Our server did apologize for kitchen delays. I had the Blackened Grouper served over mashed potatoes with a lemon beurre blanc sauce (Erin’s recommendation). The blackened grouper was nicely seasoned, tender, and filling. Though the temperature made it feel like it had sat for a little while before being brought out. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the lemon sauce was a nice partner to the rest of the dish. The crab cake that topped the grouper was good as well. The dish just left me feeling a little underwhelmed for the price point -7/10. Toward the end of our meal, a manager took over serving us. She was fun and topped off our drinks and took our dessert orders. We ordered two slices of the 6-layer chocolate cake. It was great! Very rich, fluffy, and served with fresh fruit to cut some of the richness - 9/10 Overall, this is a great option for dinner. I plan to dine here again, but I may try a Friday or Saturday night instead and see if I have better luck!

It’s taken me a while to write this. Wasn’t sure how to really go about it but we came here on a Sunday around 7pm and the hostess said there’s about a 25 min wait for a party of 4. (totally understandable) She takes my number and tells us I’ll receive a text when the table is ready. I asked if we could get a drink at the bar while we wait and she said yes, as long as we’re not sitting at the bar. So far the atmosphere is nice, looks like a cute place to have dinner with the indoor/outdoor seating. Me and one of my gfs get up to the corner of the bar and our husbands both leave to use the restroom. We ordered drinks for all 4 of us and my gfs husband comes back shortly after. While we’re standing at the bar waiting for our other drinks, we’re talking with one another, having a good chat, and out of no where a girl with short black hair approaches us from behind. She comes up on my gfs right side and says to us “It looks like you girls are dressed to cause some trouble”… I didn’t hear what she said even after repeating herself and when she left, my friend reiterates what she said. For anyone wondering: I was wearing a long sleeve floral romper and my friend was wearing a jean jacket over her black top and pink shorts. Both wearing flats and completely covered up lol. Regardless, it doesn’t matter WHAT we’re wearing. I couldn’t even imagine if we showed up in a dress and heels for date night instead, god forbid anyone dresses cute. Super rude and unprofessional to say to customers/guests. Once we get our drinks and start walking away from the bar I get a text at 7:04pm saying our table is ready. Super quick! We shrugged off the first negative interaction we had. So we get seated in the back under this white canopy and Morgan comes up to us right when we sit and says “your server will be with you in a sec but if you’d like me to get appetizers started for you I can do that”. WE JUST SAT. Haven’t gotten a chance to look at the menu. I said in a polite manner that we haven’t gotten a chance to look the menu yet but if you can give us a second that’d be great. She walks away and 30 mins roll by and still no server that checks in on us. I was able to check my texts to see the exact times we got checked in and sat. I look at my phone at 7:31 and check to see the time we got sat and it was 7:04. I guess the girl with the short black hair was supposed to be our server but it looked like she didn’t want to come up to us because of our first interaction. Eventually we order food, more drinks, etc and are almost done with our meal. My gfs steak was really dry and her cooked side was cold. This is when I ask the server if I could speak with the manager. I don’t remember her name but she was very sweet and understanding of the situation and I told her about the first interaction we had with one of the servers. Asking to speak with a manager was out of my norm but I knew it was better to try and fix things head on then just write a review about it. She said they’ve been having issues with the girl that made the comment about us a lot recently and has been off and on meds??? Idk, if this is a recurring issue she shouldn’t be working as a server where she NEEDS to speak with others frequently. We didn’t get into details but if the customer service was better on the servers side of things, I would’ve given this place a 4/5 star review. That first initial interaction didn’t kill our mood but from there it was kind of a domino effect. Hopefully that server is no longer worker here, I’d love to give them another...

So I'm reading all of these great reviews about this place and I have lived on this island for a while and we went the weekend of the boat show and of course they do not take reservation so they make you arrive and put yourself on a wait list which my family did and although it was predicted to rain all weekend, the patio was not ready for the weather. Did not set up their patio with their tents and coverings and then gave away our table which was for a party of eight mind you. Six of the people were there. I was in the car with my daughter who is 11 who was starving and because of the pouring rain I was 5 minutes late getting into the restaurant and they gave away the table to the people who were sitting outside who they did not prepare for and who needed to come inside to finish their food. Well this is understandable. The poor planning from the team in the weather caused my family who two of them are diabetics my 11-year-old who needed to eat and all of us without a table and then without a time when another table would be available for such a large party. We were understandably frustrated. No one could give us an answer. Connor, the manager was rude. We were soaking wet and I asked for the owner Scott. He proceeded to come over and yell at me. Get in my face continuously saying why were your entire party not here when we called you. They fully well knew the entire party was not there. I was 2 minutes away in the pouring rain and they use that as an excuse to give away the table. I have sent many people to this restaurant and although the food may be great, the service was terrible. This evening. The planning was terrible and the only owner was horrific and insulted me in front of everybody and yelled at me and then said I was no longer welcomed in his establishment! Because of their poor planning I was insulted and humiliated because I was fending for my family who had waited to come to this restaurant and whose table was given away and then was rude to and insulted and kicked out! Maybe it was because My family has an ethnic last name and they thought they could just bypass us for somebody a little better or a little more important. It is your job as a business to predict the needs for the evening. It is a busy weekend. It is predicted to rain and no customer deserves to be insulted and treated disrespectfully because they are trying to do best for their family. Shame on you! Yes I was upset because of how my family was treated but as a woman I feel very disrespected and very insulted by the way he screamed in my face! I feel racially profiled by this owner because he looked at the color of my family's skin and thought he could get other people in. Seeing the response from these unprofessional people is even worse. Your stall fully knew I was outside running in the rain and said it was ok and they would seat the party, anyone who was treated so poorly would have been upset as well and no one was upset by us they actually agreed. Your establishment is low class and treats women and children terribly and I will be consulting a civil...
