What a great addition Ash Street Cigar Parlor is to the downtown Fernandina Beach corridor. First, the execution in building out and delivering on this business has been excellent. Upon entering you feel transported to a "speak easy" back in time, but with a wide selection of modern quality cigars that will appeal to all aficionados. But make no mistake, the high end selections are what will appeal most to those passionate about a good smoke, nowhere else do you have the kind of higher end options available as you do at Ash Street.
The wine and beer selection matches the stick selections. A wide variety with something for everyone, but discerning customers will be happy with quality choices in the upper end of the spectrum. And ladies, this isn't just another hangout for the fellas. "Oh wow" is what I heard over and over from the ladies in attendance of the soft opening, thrilled with the wine selection and the comfortable atmosphere. The building is ventilated exceptionally well with lots of outdoor choices for the non-smoker too.
The decor is spot on and sets the vibe from the moment you step towards the front door, with a nice casual patio out back too. Food can be ordered and brought over from "The Patio" restaurant next door when you get hungry.
It will be exciting to watch this business grow, since this is just day 1. If you have someone in your life that loves cigars, you have a great spot to buy gifts locally that will be a big hit, or a place to bring your out of town guests, or a new favorite place for locals as well.
Congratulations to Jeff Freese and Sheila Freese on your successes. We are so...
Read moreCigar Bar is always an amazing experience. Ironically I rarely smoke and primarily show up for the great beer selection, atmosphere, and entertainment. Most recently a food truck called EADT. The chef is super great guy that makes an amazing food. Yesterday we ordered wings that were probably the best on the island. We asked to cook them crispy and they came out exactly the way we ordered them to be. Other places you tell the crispy or even use the words burn them to get them crispy and they still come out chewy and not even close to crispy. But EADT knows exactly how to make crispy wings. In fact, I am getting a craving for them niw as I am typing this review. We secondly ordered The Slim which a perfect blend od cheese, onions, and spices. Will not disappoint! My wife and her friends finished off the meal with an order of delicious Beignets. I didn’t personally try one because all three were eaten before I could ask for a taste. So I think I can safely say they were delicious by how quickly they went. After that we all ordered a few more beers through the amazing and attentive staff. Thank you Cigar Bar for another wonderful experience. Like I said at the beginning…don’t need to smoke cigars to enjoy what this venue brings to a great experience. I have to add that I never have issues with cigar smoke as they do a great job making it enjoyable for someone like me that doesn’t. But from their cigar inventory it looks like a cigar aficionado would be in heaven! Hope this helps whomever reads this on making the right choice to check this place...
Read moreThis is such an incredible spot! Whether you like to smoke cigars or not, this place makes you feel like hanging out at your friend’s house! It has speakeasy vibes! You order from wherever you choose to sit. The beer and wine selection is HUGE! They also have canned cocktails and seltzers. There are two closed smoking rooms and two non-smoking rooms. The building is equipped with ventilators and air purifiers. You can sit inside, out on the front porch rocking chairs or tables, or on the back patio. There aren’t many places you can sit out front like this on the sidewalk. They have TVs inside and one outside. The back patio is so dreamy at night! Nice quality polywood high tops, Adirondack chairs, and propane fire pits. You can also order from a few of the appetizers they have next door at The Patio (they go get it for you!) or order pre made charcuterie boxes from Olive Amelia! Yum! Love this cozy, historic home turned into a...
