After going to several Walmart stores and buying a few bikes to see if my wife could ride them comfortably I had to take each one back for a refund. So I decided to look at some local bike stores and came across this store. First visit I spoke with Joel and explained to him what my wife was looking for and asked if I bought a bike and my wife could not ride it properly if I could bring it back. He said yes but only to exchange for another bike but he recommended she come in and test ride a few. Came back a few days later and Joel brought out a few bikes to let my wife ride around the block. He was very helpful in making her feel comfortable with her selection. I can finally say my wife is happy as can be with her Tuesday March 7 speed beach cruiser. Super comfy and the 7 speed part helps with the inclined roads. Bikes are a bit pricey here but compared to the quality of bikes we checked out from Walmart, these are much nicer and higher quality material. You get what you pay for. Thanks Joel!!

Classic down to earth bike repair shop. Joel exemplifies genuine customer service akin to the days of old. He understood, with his power of empathy, the need for me to find someone who could help me fix the tires of my special needs child special chair. I barely got through my sentence explaining what I needed when I was asked to go ahead and bring the chair in. And then instead of bringing the chair in, Joel came outside! I was so overwhelmed by their kindness that I had to hold back tears. And when the tires were fixed, Joel sat down and talked as if he had all the time in the world, never once making me feel rushed. We will make this our primary bike shop. It’s the best! (We used to live here years ago and they had helped us- nothing has changed. They are still true human beings helping their community!)

I recently moved to the area and looked forward to mountain biking on Ft. Clinch's trails. Unfortunately, the front suspension fork of my beloved 25 year old Klein hardtail gave up the ghost. Joel and Noah found a suitable replacement, ordered, and installed it in about a week. Amazingly, it works better than the original! My old bike now rides like a champ. Sadly, I ran over a sand spur a few weeks later and punctured an inner-tube. I brought the bike in over a lunch hour and Ron dropped his sandwich to replace the damaged tube on the spot. We're so lucky to have such a great local bike shop on the island. Thanks Joel and team!

We moved to Jacksonville from Fernandina Beach about 6 months ago, and our bikes (now discontinued) were stolen. We returned to Fernandina for about a month to enjoy the beach, etc and decided that it was time to buy a new set of bikes in order to take full advantage of the island.

We walked into this store on a Saturday, and Chris was so friendly helpful. He let us take several bikes out for a spin. We decided that if we were going to purchase a bike, it would be from this store. When we shortlisted our favorite bikes, he offered to find out from the manufacturer/distributor whether they had in stock the bikes that we wanted (model, color, speed, etc.) By Monday he had called us to inform that he ordered the bikes, but no commitment to purchase. My husband ordered the 3G matte black with copper rims, 3 speed. I wanted glossy black with red rims. The black/red was available in matte, but Chris managed to find both matte and glossy and ordered both. The bikes arrived in store by Wednesday and we picked them up yesterday (Thursday, fully assembled and accessorized. I might add that Joel, the owner helped us select more accessories such as locks and lights. We chose two locks and one set of lights and he threw those in for free, at least a $50 value.

We would recommend this shop for sales, service and overall an excellent experience.

Note - Don't forget to write your serial numbers and store in a safe place, with a photo. It's not fun having your awesome...

Great experience here. This may be long but hopefully helpful to the community. Usually I review if an experience is fantastic..or if it is horrible. I;ve had both experiences here on the Island. Joel at this shop was great, and in spite of his years in business maintains his passion for what he does and really knows his stuff...friendly and polite and very helpful. All I wanted was to buy and have installed the largest tires that would fit on my hybrid/road bike since I will be riding less on tarmac and more on unstable terrain so needed more grip but still wanted to roll well on pavement. The owner of the other island place (SuperCosa) said i could not go larger after looking at the bike, and further said if I could, i couldnt ride the bike where i wanted to ride anyway.and was surly and unfriendly and obviously wrong on both counts. I have been to his shoppe before and he was same..just unpleasant. So I rolled into Joels place and he found the time to help me out even though he was busy with other customers..picked out the perfect tires for me (larger ones) and put one on to make sure it would fit...it/they did and the bike has taken on a whole new multi surface vibe at a very reasonable cost...my tale of 2 island bike shops ....
