Amelia Lock & Key — Local services in Fernandina Beach

I initially contacted Amelia Lock and Key to have the key fob programmed for my vehicle. I informed them I had the old and new fobs. I went to their place of business first thing in the morning (0800-0830) and brought my fobs. They didn't seem overly friendly. What they failed to tell me on initial contact was that I had to have the car with me, causing me to go home to get the "right" car. After returning, they seemed to warm up and were more welcoming. They programmed my fob without incident. It was MY fault that I did not ask what the cost would be upfront for the programming, as I assumed it would be cheaper than the dealer and I LOVE patronizing small business. My ignition switch went out in my truck & for my model truck you can’t buy a new one that comes with a new key, so you have to have the tumblers set to your old key. Plus I was told by multiple mechanics that the entire steering column had to be taken apart to replace it & was going to cost me close to $900 to fix it while other mechanics refused to even touch it. I continued to call around & one person I spoke to suggested calling a locksmith. Amelia Lock & Key instantly agreed to help & was very flexible on when & where he could meet me. Not only did he re-key my new ignition switch & charge me a fair price but he gave me the info (that I couldn’t find anywhere else) to fix my truck myself & saved me a lot of money. Thanks...

I cannot rate this company highly enough! We have used them several times over the past couple of years and they have been incredibly reliable, trustworthy and reasonably priced. In fact, my daughter got locked out of the house today. I called Amelia Lock and Key and they were there within 15 minutes--even though it was very early in the morning. They let her in and then told me they would not charge me for this kind service. They just do not make companies like this anymore! I cannot thank you all enough.
