Amigo's Place — Restaurant in Ferris

We tried this place a couple of days ago and was not disappointed. There was 7 in our group so we were a little crowded at our table but managed ok. The food and service we received more than made up for that. There was not one complaint from our group and some even took home leftovers. We highly recommend this place and plan on returning soon to try something different. UPDATE 08-07-25 There are some other decent places in the county but this has become our favorite. I haven't tried everything yet but have tried many different ones and haven't been disappointed. Hard to say which is my favorite but I think the carne asada is the best I've ever had. The outside area has now been enclosed and was nice and cool today. If the parking right next to the building is full, no worries as there is plenty more spaces across the creek next to the service road. A bridge available there to cross over and not a long walk. You'll walk further than that at Walmart or the movie theater! Excellent food and excellent service will keep us...

From the moment you walk up to Amigos, the vibe hits you—classic salsa music playing at the door sets the perfect tone.

June was absolutely amazing, immediately welcoming us into the restaurant with warmth and kindness. I ordered the jamaica iced tea, and it was everything I hoped for—thirst-quenching with a subtle hint of cinnamon that made it stand out.

For my meal, I went with the veggie tamales (trying to eat on the healthier side), and wow—what a choice. The masa was fluffy and light, almost cloud-like, while the rice and black beans were perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. Honestly, it felt like someone’s grandmother was in the kitchen putting all her love into every bite.

Amigos is more than just good food—it’s a whole experience. Warm service, soulful atmosphere, and dishes that taste like home....

Chips and salsa are pretty average. Not the best and certainly not the worst. Entrees were very good. I really enjoyed the street corn and beans.

Service was very good and very nice. They have just opened and still have some things to iron out--like AC not working properly. They will work everything out quickly, I'm sure.

I'm glad to see them doing a lot of business. It's going to be a local go-to kind of place, I'm sure.
