Bob Evans — Restaurant in Findlay

Quick review: The Bob Evans here, while having an innocent and inviting atmosphere, is overall a disappointment in its meal options and taste.

First impressions: upon walking in, you're greeted with a small waiting area/payment desk combo, a friendly hostess, and inviting smells and posters. The place seems very welcoming and inviting, and the people working there only make it friendlier.

Seating: seating was fast and simple, and a waitress was over within minutes.

Menu options: the menu definitely caters toward more of a breakfast setting, as lunch and dinner options are scarce, while breakfast options are plentiful. As someone who came for a nice, fulfilling lunch, I was disappointed.

Pricing: pricing can be a little much for some menu items, but for most, they're reasonable.

Wait time: the food took maybe 15-20 minutes to cook, which is always a plus. However, seeing as to how the food was cooked so fast, I had the bar set low for my expectations.

The food: I had ordered a Country Fried Steak meal w/ mashed potatoes, and, needless to say, it was very disappointing, even with my low expectations. The potatoes were average at best, with the gravy being overpoweringly flavorful, and the steak was just plain awful. The meat was slightly mushy and the breading felt soggy in my mouth. The seasonings, too, were way too overpowering, ultimately leading to me being unable to finish my food. It even left me sick to my stomach, which should never happen in any restaurant.

Conclusion: Bob Evans does a great job looking very inviting and having a welcome atmosphere. The people are nice, the décor is nice, but I was very disappointed in the meal I had ordered. If the chefs take some time to work on their dishes a little more, I really feel there could be a new star restaurant here in Findlay. I personally wouldn't wish to come again, (unless the above stated problems are ironed out) but you could...

My boyfriend and I went in for dinner because another restaurant was super pact. Not a lot of people where there maybe 10 to 15 and lots of staff in the back. We sat down ordered drinks and ordered food. I got my food and it looked as if I can only take 5 bites and my whole meal was gone. Pot roast hash with 3 small peices of meat, 2 eggs and rock hard potato's that where cold. Sent it back and verbally told her a salad with wildfire ranch grilled TO GO. Never filled up the drinks and had to eat a meal dry. 20 minutes later I see them throwing my salad into a togo container because the chef made it for here. Turns out they put 4 small peices of fried chicken on a salad with bbq sauce. We were visiting in Ohio for a week and ate at this location twice..it was so good! Restaurant was clean, employees were all friendly and helpful and the food...oh my! First visit was lunch..1/2 sandwich and salad. The salad had pecans, blue cheese, dried cranberries included with the greens. Dressing was your Colonial dressing. Never tried it before but fell in love with it! Sandwich was very good as well! Yes, I bought 4 bottles of the dressing! Next visit was dinner. The brothers both had the turkey dinner and enjoyed it so much! The sisters all opted for the sandwich/ salad combo again! It was just as good second time around!
