Midwest Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Menards so that Menards locally can push off the blame to some company in Wisconsin. So the review below is what I left for Midwest Manufacturing, but applies to Menards as well because they should be held responsible. This company is a complete joke. We spent $2,200 at Menards on patio pavers. We installed our new patio which had 4 different types of blocks. As we were installing the we were finding many of the 16x16 blocks to be crumbling, but because Menards over estimated on the design it we have way more blocks than we needs so we were able to pick through and find what we thought were the “good” blocks. Once all were installed and locking sand was on, while doing the required plate compactor more of the blocks began to crumble apart and one of them even has plastic poured in it. So while we were returning the extras to Menards we ask about the defective ones that were installed. We were told we could return them. Hummmm No, they were installed in a patio. We are not prepared to tear apart the patio we just worked so hard to install. The manager at Menards tells us we need to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer is Midwest Manufacturing. I set up a chat and the result of that was it needed referred to customer service where I have to explain it all again in an email which was about 3 weeks after the chat. (Yep, it took them that long). No response to that email. I get a letter in the mail saying we can remove them from the patio and exchange them at the store. Again Hmmmmm NO. so I email asking for the manager, where BOB WALTHER emails me and again I had to explain everything and send the pictures again. Only for him to respond with the same answer. When I asked for the owner’s contact information I get an email that states “At this time I am closing your file. If you change your mind on our offer for replacement pavers let me know.” What a HORRIBLE company. I have filed a complaint with The BBB in hopes that this company be held to producing quality products. It is not like they are selling something that can simply be exchanged. I want them to do the...
Read moreCame to possibly purchase some supplies for a small project I’m doing at home. Rarely ever come to Menards but usually not a bad experience actually last time (a year or so ago) I needed a wire outlet for my washing machine some worker helped me out I thought she did great but this time I’d thought to just look around and see if what I really needed was there I did not ask for help as I love to just walk around I walked near the registers and saw some cleaning supplies but not the cleaning supplies that I didn’t need and went down the aisles while that was happening a old lady kept eyeing me. I had no idea why she was eyeing me so i kept to myself and I walked past her to look at more aisles. I then went to the shelf aisle to see what they had as I am in need of one in my bathroom but due to them being made out of a material I didn’t want I thought perhaps not. Mean while the same old lady kinda walks around me and stays pretty close and then I knew what was going on and I just laughed to myself. She literally put her self in front of the garden section doors like she was guarding the merchandise with her life HAHAHA I was like this is crazyyy. I left the aisle to go ask for help for some more supplies two other associates help me they were very nice to point me in the direction and assist me with the items. When it came to checking out I was putting my bags into the cart mean while the cashier (different lady) held on to my cart. She did not let go until I paid for my items. I do not know what else to say about this experience. On another note earlier I picked up a bucket near the cat section because I did not think I needed a cart for the visit. Went to lift up the bucket on a shelf and it so slashed on me I’m assuming it was being used for a leaky ceiling. No warning no label that it...
Read moreI returned a defective special order window, (it was missing parts) and the store manager Cory Buckowing insisted that i was to be charged a *% restocking fee, now I waited two weeks for this window to come in so I could get my house inspection done, well with the window being bad I went elsewhere to get it that day, I had to have it custom made, and then return yours another day, obviously I couldn't wait another * weeks for a window. So upon return your very rude manager handled the situation extremely wrong, and I should at least get my *% restock fee placed back on my menards credit card. I do a lot of shopping at menards and I will take the issue to bbb if necessary. The two ladies at the return desk agreed that the manager was in the wrong and both said they didn't understand why he was handling the situation like he did, they explained to me that things dont usually go like that at all. I am very upset with the way Cory Buckowing treated me, that is unacceptable! I hope that this doesnt happen to anyone else, your managers should be more...
