Honestly, I wasn't thrilled that a Chick-fil-A opened in Findlay. The times I had it before in shopping malls left me unimpressed and underwhelmed. I was not expecting anything different at the restaurant. That was not my experience today.
The first thing I noticed was how nice and clean the building was. Yes, it's new, but there is a great sense of pride in the place that is evident in how well everything is cleaned and stocked. My wife and I arrived shortly after a busy time, yet everything was stocked and clean, as if it had just opened for the day.
The second thing I noticed was that the service staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The fellow that took my order had a smile on his face and a cheerful voice that seemed to help in me wanting to be there. Then I looked around to everyone else that was working, and it seemed they had genuine smiles. The guy that took my order was more than helpful in getting any sauces or answering any questions we had. On top of that, he was quick! Actually, everyone was quick. We barely sat down and our food was being delivered to our table by yet another friendly, smiling person.
The third thing I noticed was that there was more to the menu than I remembered. It wasn't just a chicken sandwich, but different types of sandwiches and strips. My wife and I ordered the same thing - a Spicy Chicken Sandwich with Pepper Jack cheese meal, something we had been curious to try.
The fourth thing I noticed was that the dining area was designed for any number of people in a party. There were the quiet, intimate tables for two, the tables or booths that sat 4 to 6 people, then there's the table that could easily seat about 10 or 12, possibly more. This tells me that everyone from a single person to a big family or group of friends are welcome and they are prepared for anyone.
Now, the ultimate test for a restaurant is the food. As I mentioned before, I wasn't impressed the last time I had Chick-fil-A. I have to say, this time impressed me. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich was juicy and, while not necessarily being hot from spice, it was flavorful. The waffle fries were soft, pillowy, and perfectly seasoned for me. It was actually unnecessary to use the sauces on the fries. That is not to say I didn't try the sauces anyway, which only added to my enjoyment.
Finally, when we were all done, we each used the restroom. Thankfully, our experiences there held up to what we encountered up to then. The bathrooms were bright and very clean. I was pleased.
Another thing to mention is that they have a play area for children. We don't have children ourselves, but it seemed like a fun and safe space for those who may want that.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. The next time I need a quick meal in town, Chick-fil-A will definitely be high on my list. They completely changed my opinion of them, which is difficult, to say the...
Read moreI can't believe that they have their employees standing outside taking orders with tablets in 26 degree weather! You couldn't pay me enough to take orders in below freezing weather. They have the speakers outside to take people's orders, so the employees don't have to be out there. I spoke with the manager on duty and he said that they are subjecting their employees to below freezing temperatures only to "be different and improve customer experience", that's rediculous! Well, they are definitely not improving customer experience, because the girl who took my order got it wrong. I only wanted a 3 piece chicken tender meal, but she charged me for a 4 piece meal. If they had been using the speaker system I would've been able to see the price of the meal on the menu and notice that the total was wrong long before I got to the window. No wonder the girl typed it on the tablet wrong, she was freezing cold and wearing gloves! Usually the person taking your order would read the order back to you so you could verify it was correct, but this girl didn't do that. She probably didn't do it so she could get the cars through the line faster since she was so cold. So when I got to the window and the employee said it was a 4 piece instead of 3, I told him it was wrong and he didn't even offer to give me my money back and neither did the manager I talked to. Overall, I'm very disappointed in the Findlay Chick-fil-A since they are known for being a Christian company. They are certainly not following the golden rule of treating their employees the way that they would want to be treated. I'm sure I wouldn't see the owner standing out in the cold taking orders! I will not be going to the Chick-fil-A in Findlay again, until they stop treating their employees...
Read morePicked up lunch for me and a co-worker, I work for a business close to Chick-fil-A and we both were really looking forward to a tasty lunch from them. I have had meals there before that were good. Not this time both orders were the same Chicken Sandwich with Waffles fries. Chicken on both sandwiches were next to nothing, very small and thin, never had their chicken this small before, I understand size can vary but I can't believe they would find this acceptable to serve to anyone. I had to pull off most of the bun so I was not eating just bread, which was fine since bun tasted stale not sure but I was not good. Fries were under cooked, asked my co-worker how they liked their lunch since it was the same as mine and they said is was disappointing for the same reasons. I always loved the way this place keeps things consistent but honestly that was a complete waste of $6 spent on something I did not finish it was so bad. Sorry to say I am probably going to avoid this...
