Love the reviews from before the restaurant opened and from the owner, good info.
If you've been to a Firehouse (they are a national franchisee) before, then there's nothing new to see here. The subs are better than Subway and Jimmy John's, probably on par with Quizno's. They do have a lot of sauce selection, which is nice and allows you to experiment with the flavor of your sandwich. They do toast their sandwiches and do so without asking so mind that when ordering. I'd even suggest dialing back the ovens as I've had to let a sandwich sit for 5+ minutes after delivery because it was too hot to eat.
They lose 1 star for the staff. They employ almost exclusively high school students, so there's the typical problems; they're more interested in talking with each other than taking care of customers, and are easily distracted. We thought the place was closed when we walked up; the signboard was blank and there were almost no cars in the parking lot.
Upon entering the store, I noticed how quiet it was. No music was playing nor was any talking going on; a bit uncharacteristic of a sandwich shop during Saturday lunch.
The food was great. Well prepared and delicious.
An employee was arguing with the manager/owner at one point which was awkward. Also, there was copious amounts of smoke from cooking circulating throughout the dining room.
I may return...
