I had not been in Sahms for quite awhile...and I always loved the food and drinks...not so much this time....ordered a lemon drop martini which was more like a very sour flavor....less like lemon...I decided on something different to eat...wrong choice...I got the avocado chicken...the description on the menu sounded good...won’t order that again...may never go to Sahms again...haven’t reached a decision yet...so a hammered out grilled chicken breast came with what appeared to be on top, an unseasoned canned mixed of corn, black beans, red and green bell peppers and a tiny bit of red onion and finely chopped cilantro....with chunks of avocado on top of that...I think the menu said a salsa....no chopped tomatoes or anything that appeared to be of a salsa nature to me....overall, a 3 at most...nothing else on the plate but a small slice of orange on the rind...wth was that for? So I also have always loved the carrot curls until this meal...they were very over cooked and hinged on being charred...the most delicious part of my meal was the other side of Cesar salad and the bread which is sensational! I had lots of bread left over and asked for a piece of aluminum foil to wrap it in to take home so I could make a pig of myself in the privacy of my own place...didn’t want the styrofoam box and told the wait that as well...what I got was a couple of pieces of parchment paper the size of a paper napkin...again wth was that about? No foil in a kitchen? How does one get parchment paper to stay wrapped around bread? I ended up asking for the awful styrofoam box and left feeling very disappointed in most of my meal...except for the salad and the bread....is it time for this age old restaurant to chuck it in? I am still contemplating that one....best wishes with your selections of food and drink should you decide to...
Read moreWe've enjoyed Sahm's multiple locations for years. For us (vegetarians), highlights are the taco salad, for which we substitute for the meat, and the stir fry. I do have a couple small issues, though, particularly with the Allisonville Road location. [Disclaimer, sort of: I've owned restaurants and prior worked in the restaurant/nightclub industry for years.) My first is that for a salad the size of their large taco salad, a less-than-full little metal cup of dressing is definitely NOT enough...but if you ask for more, they charge you $0.50. Given our average tab with drinks, this feels like nickel and diming. My second is that, in agreement with some other reviewers, we, too, have felt unwanted by some staff members. On more than one occasion, we've been given our tab l-o-n-g before we were finished eating, let alone dessert or after-dinner drinks. On more than one occasion, we've felt as if we were being "cut off," as if we'd had too much to drink (which we definitely did not). When I inquired as to the gluten-free nature of one of the dishes, the server/bartender gal acted as if I'd really overstepped some kind of boundary. My last issue is that there's a female bartender who makes a very weak mixed drink. Now, having worked in liquor profitability control for a nationwide chain, I can tell you that she may think she's saving her boss money, but she's actually costing the boss business. Tip to the bartender: pouring a decent drink doesn't cost; it pays. And it only costs a few extra cents' worth of liquor.
We will still be patrons of Sahm's, but hope that this constructive criticism is taken in the helpful spirit in which it's intended. As multi-business owners, I always appreciate such gentle input from customers...
Read moreWow so let me start off by saying that we were really excited about finding this place however that quickly changed once we stepped inside. The 1st impression wasn't great at all, the host didn't seem happy at all, she seemed to be very overwhelmed and the waiter who took our order wouldn't stand still long enough for us to give him our order, we were getting very annoyed that as we were trying to order and ask a question he took off, coffee was as if I was drinking water, I couldn't even get creamer for my water coffee before it got cold, and the food had no salt or any season of any kind, if it wasn't for the sauce it would of just tasted like meat, the tenderness was there on the pork but that was it. We didn't want to send anything back because we were on our lunch break so we were pressed for time, I will say the best part of the visit and the main reason for us coming was the Coffee Cake, amazing 👏 😋 😍, our company gets this cake every year for our client's and I never knew where we ordered it from until the day before my visit to the restaurant. I will say this, that will be the ONLY THING I WILL EAT from this place that is packed with favor. Hands to the person who makes the Coffee Cake!!!! I'm not impressed with the service we received on this day, maybe it was a bad day I don't know but I'm not willing to give it a...
