Crown Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Fitchburg

Mediocre food, terrible service.

I tried this place today and ended up sitting in their 85 degree dining area for 20 mins before hearing chatter from behind the counter which made it clear that they had forgot to make the actual chicken for my order. Took about 35 minutes total before the entire order was ready. Now, this would be forgivable if they were swamped at the time, but they had hardly anyone coming in and the phone wasn't ringing for call-in orders. Also, it wasn't a large order. I'm not entirely sure what part of using fryers is difficult for this place, but they must struggle with it to take this long. There were 4 cooks in the back and one guy, I'm assuming the owner, barking orders. The owner came off as unpleasant from the beginning of my experience there.

On to the food. The chicken was mediocre at best and it got worse from there. The fries were stale and tasted like the cook had just discovered seasoned salt. The fried shrimp were obviously frozen from a box and they managed to make them even worse by nearly burning them.

All-in-all, it was a very bad experience. Not only would I never go back, I'll actively encourage anyone to avoid this place. I guarantee they would have already shut down if not for...

I never leave reviews but I just felt the need to warn people to not order from here. I place my order at 6 and the whole time he kept interrupting me to take other peoples orders. I figured to just give them a chance because I can understand it gets busy. Once that was set and done, an hour later I called to just check in and see if they were on the way before canceling my order. I called 3 times and each time I couldn’t get in touch with anyone. Once I finally got a hold of someone, he complains that they are busy and says they will be to me in 5 minutes… another 40 minutes go by and someone finally came. Once I got my food tasted horrible and sour, so I stopped eating and Now I have horrible food poisoning.🤢 I’ve never been so sick from takeout before and they should feel ashamed for feeding people old spoiled food. Clearly wasn’t that busy if the food was that old...

I called one day while they were busy to try and change the number i gave them so there wouldn’t be any delivery problems and i hear the guy say “oh my god” as if it was an inconvenience. I order from them all the time and this took me by surprise. pure ignorance. Treat people the way you want to be treated. I could have left the wrong number and had them deliver and not be able to reach us and it get taken back and have to be delivered again but i did what i thought i should do & i got treated very rudely. Won’t be getting my business anymore that’s for sure. Can’t speak for my bf tho but know I? will never order...
