Mike & Ronda's The Place Restaurant East — Restaurant in Flagstaff

Our family was coming through Flagstaff going home from a funeral. We stopped here because my husband and I have always done so previously. I wanted to share this place with my daughter and her family because they have never eaten here. We got an overwhelmed server who immediately told us she was busy. So we took that into consideration and decided to be patient. It took her 25 minutes to get our drink orders and another 30 for our order to be taken. We made our order with the server and our drink orders didn't come to our table for another 30 minutes and then, we waited and sat around watching as the staff members congregated at the expediting window cussing and joking around while food is sitting in the windows and our coffee at this point has not been refilled. Two kids start running around where the servers are trying to walk to get food out and a server takes these children into the supply room. Our servers follows and picks up a pair of shoes and throws it after the guy and goes to the serving window without washing her hands and start serving out food. We ask for a manager and she brings Antonia to the table, I tried to explain to this lady what we have experienced and she start making side comments and I asked her to stop with the attitude and unnecessary side comments. I get frustrated with this so called manager and ask for the owner and she tells me she is the owners daughter. At this point we have our food at the table which our sever touched after picking up a pair of shoes off the floor and the server drops the check before delivering our complete order and the food is cold the oatmeal and grit is hard from sitting in the window. We got up and left because I don't want my family to get sick from our server not being clean or washing her hands. I called The Place back hoping to talk to the owner and would you know it Antonia answered the phone and she wouldn't let me talk to "her dad", I'm sorry but I would not recommend this place like I used to and the management would rather argue and laugh at you than to try to help you. It was a horrible experience!!! AND the manager called the cops on us YUP!!!! We went back pay the tab but they never apologized and my husband being a Veteran was treated with such disrespect... all the cops told is was that we would all get arrested and we could file with small claims court to get our money back..... we drove back down to make it right and got to The Place and they told us we didn't have to pay for our ticket. Thank you but the dramatics was absolutely unnecessary, when you have customers that are paying you have to make sure you take...

I have been a long-time customer and this goes way back to my grandparents also. I never experienced such disrespect. I tried my best to handle it in a way to not comment/post but since I'm not being heard nor acknowledged from the start I have to say this place has changed. I went with family members cause it was often a choice to make to eat here. But the day I experienced this may change how I express the love I use to have. I was served an ice tea with a roach in it, ROACH, yes I said roach. I stood up to make my concerned comment but I wasn't important customer enough to be heard. I then called couple of hours after to speak with the owner and he was not available till the next day. My info was taken because I was told I will get a call back about my concerns. The owner never reached out to me making me believe the staff did not care to report this issue. I did give the benefit of the doubt, therefore, therefore few days went by and never received that call about how concerned they are about their customers. So please be careful of your choice of food places to eat. I think I'm not returning and sadden me because I have been to this place since I was a child meaning my entire family history enjoyed this place. Good luck with not finding a roach or bug and hope you are considered a good customer for them to acknowledge...

I forgot photos again, but I plan to return at another time, so I'll rectify that on a later trip. We went here a few weeks ago to grab a late dinner. The food was pretty good. My husband couldn't finish all of his. The portions were quite generous. He had the chicken fried steak and biscuit and gravy. I had a chicken bacon ranch sandwich. It was pretty good. Not great, but not bad. The bacon was thick cut, which I normally would appreciate. However, it was completely overcooked, so I took it off the sandwich and only picked at it. The poor waitress was running her tail off and the other one didn't seem to be much help at all. We tipped her well because she was really great and obviously doing her best. I just wish I had gotten her name so I could give her a shout out. The pies were great! We tried coconut cream, chocolate cream, and peach, which we took to go and ate later. I'd go back again just for pie if nothing else. Next time I want to try breakfast because my husband's looked fantastic. I was just so full from mine I didn't have room to even try his out. I could have ordered breakfast this trip as breakfast is available all day (something else I love), but I was craving protein, so went for the chicken instead. Overall it was a decent place to eat. It wasn't phenomenal, but I'll go back again for sure to give it...
