The whole chain has gone downhill. No longer a bastion of great fast food burgers in Genesee County, Halo Burger has over the past several years decided to "upgrade" their offerings by ways of adding green leaf lettuce to the standard burger, where it is just inappropriately nonsensical - not "fancier". The simple white soft bun has also fallen from grace in effort to upclass the joint, now transposed to a (fancier again, I guess) heartier (and sadly crumbly-er) split-top chewtoy through these misguided efforts.
Alas, this location used to always remember the olives and cheese when so ordered, a feat that historically has had a 75-90% failure rate at the Holly Rd location in Grand Blanc. After getting home for the 6th time in a row without olives and cheese on my QP Deluxe, I finally telephoned the location to ask if they even stock olives at any of the Grand Blanc locations. Unfortunately at the time of this review I've been disappointed to find not even trace amounts of either ingredient in my QP at this Flint location, however it is represented along with the appropriate charge on my receipt, every time. I'd like to be charitable on this note, however partial credit simply could not be applied in this instance for obvious reasons. I do like olives and cheese on my burger. I do not like to pay for things I don't get. Over and over.
Please go back to how it used to be, please. If you want to offer an upscale burger, that's great. But forget making smartphone apps, make the burger you've been making for decades and decades the way you have been making it for decades and decades. You've fixed something that wasn't broken, and now it's broken. That can't be a good business model. But what do I know- I'm just a former chef. ;-)
Simply put, this chain is midway to ruining a Flint cultural icon. Ya-Ya's has already been written off Turn the...
Read moreR-A-G-G-E-T-Y. If I could give no stars I would. I repeated my order of four meals three times. I paid my bill, and the girl stares at me and says she needs another ten dollars. I apoligize and hand it over. Thought it odd, but didn't have time to mess with it. We went to the play area ( my children and husband) after paying (30.89). After waiting almost 15 minutes for the food to appear, I came to get my families food...and: wrong burger, short 2 fries, Wisconsin cheese curds box 1/2 full, Dino nuggets and all fries burnt, Halo bites half full and food messy all over the tray. I approach the cashier who looks nervous and ask for correct food or a refund. and that if we can't NOT burn the food, I want my money back. The manager on duty decides to materialize and tell me that I need to produce a different reciept (can't help what I was given); that my total was the pre tax total (next column, honey) (he said he was shortchanging himself in the next sentance by refunding ne the entire total ). 🤔😂. And that he was going to "give it to me this once." I'm not the one to try and get tough with big guy, you can't figure up sales tax and you have zero awareness of the state of the store. Hush up, you don't scare me and I'm not easily intimidated. 😂 As if I burnt my own food, and made him inept at mathematics and customer service. Try not giving people burnt food? Try speaking clearly and professionally. Try communicating quality expectations with your staff, and consider learning basic math. Also, the restaurant needs to rework or clean the nasty booth fabric, and may want to consider investing in cleaning supplies instead of a play area. I definitely AM missing ten bucks, so I hope that lil girl needed it, it was a fun surprise at the gas station being two hours from home. Never again. 👌 Stupid people, raggedy restaurant, burnt food, nah. 🤦♀️✌Go be lippy to and thieve from...
Read moreThis Halo Burger is a joke. No matter what you order it takes at least 15 minutes. And that's after you have to wait for about 5 minutes for somebody to come to the cash register and take your order. And it doesn't matter if you go through drive-thru doesn't matter if there's 10 people in the place or a hundred. But for the record every time I've gone inside there's been no more than maybe 10 people. Just a great place to open up a hamburger place right next door they probably do excellent. And the quality of the food when they do bring it is not really that good. The Boston coolers that they used to have that were pretty good now you can barely taste any Vernors in them. It's basically just a shake with a splash of verners. No real reason to come back except for the play area. For the grandkids. If it wasn't for the Play place I would never ever go to another Halo Burger ever. But because they have the play place we do go. I usually...
