WHOA - HOLD THE PHONE! Soriano's now charges $5 for chips n salsa. This is a deal-breaker. C-N-S is a hallmark of every good Mexican restaurant. This puts lunchtime somewhat out of reach for me. Lunch combo's are $9-$13. Add a coke for $3.50. NOW ad $5 for C-N-S?!? Add a tip and I'm looking at a $22-$27 lunch. That's too much. Dang - I love this place. I get it: yer in Flint and you probably have people rolling up, ordering a taco and water and eating chips n salsa for 2 hours. Maybe a tiered system? $5 C-N-S for people who order ala carte? Free if you spend X? I don't know. Back to El Potrero's for now, Speedy Gonzales in and out.
This place is legit. Authentic Mexican vibe all the way, complete with the right tunes that make me cha-cha on the way in AND out. Everyone’s speaking Spanish and the decor is take-me-back Tijuana. They bring you excellent tasting salsa in a mini carafe and individual finger bowls for each person, so you don’t have to share with your disgusting, double-dipping toddler or drooling grandfather. The food is real, not Bell-Tex-Mex garbage. And their beans have actual beans in them…not that blended dog food moosh most places try to pass off as refried. And best of all, everything isn’t smothered and infused with cilantro, that detestable soap-on-a-rope excuse for an herb. Saturday’s 3-fer special rocks it from 2-5 PM. And on top of all that, they are very fast and friendly service. Load up the neighbors and get on down here! Viva...

Soriano’s in Flint is a true gem! My girlfriend and I enjoyed one of the best meals we’ve had in ages—an unforgettable night out.
First, the food! The steak wet burrito was exceptional—tender, flavorful steak sliced into strips, paired with slightly caramelized onions that still had a delightful crunch. The house-made guacamole was a standout: fresh, vibrant, and topped with diced tomatoes and shredded cheese. This isn’t fast food; it’s quality dining that’s worth every penny. Plus, the portions were so generous we both had leftovers for a breakfast fiesta!
We visited in mid-December, and the cozy dining area was charmingly decorated for Christmas with authentic vintage items—not dollar-store mylar and crepe paper. The nostalgic decor made it feel like we were having dinner at a family gathering rather than in a restaurant. That personal, welcoming touch made our rare date night even more special.
Supporting local businesses is important to us, and Soriano’s has absolutely earned its spot as a new neighborhood favorite. If you’re craving authentic Mexican food and a warm, homey atmosphere, look no further.

Read moreOnly Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to that charges for chips & salsa, the menu says “one basket of chips comes free with entree” (literally 6 or 7 tortilla chips in a basket) however we had a party of 6 and only got one basket for entire table. I asked if we each get our own chip since we each are buying an entree & paying separate, server says no. Rip off. The entrees are SO small definitely not somewhere to go if you’re really hungry. Our party ordered a variety of different entrees & Everything was so bland & had no spice what so ever, refried beans were runny as if they added a bunch of water to make portions stretch. I felt embarrassed for choosing this place to meet friends & family for a meal. Nobody liked their food, prices were outrageous let alone portions. Our server was very nice and tried to accommodate as much as possible, but even she was struggling to explain all the “fine print” / managements reasoning behind pricing, quantity & service. She tried to sneak us more chips but we didn’t even want her to risk getting in trouble. I just hope she gets...
