Burger King — Restaurant in Florence

This Burger King in particular has always been a disappointment. Today's visit: I ordered ahead through their mobile app. Which required me to restart my phone before it would allow me to select a location for pickup. The sides with a meal options are limited to fries or onion rings on the app while in person you can also choose mozzarella sticks. I placed my order, the app "confirmed with location" and accepted my payment. Upon arrival the line was incredibly long partially due to their intercom being broken so you had to order at the window. No one said anything until I was receiving my food at which point I was informed that their shake machine was broken and asked if I would like extra drinks instead of oreo shakes. No, I wanted oreo shakes. Of course since I ordered online I cannot get a refund at the restaurant so now I have to deal with that. I pulled aside to check my food after I told them to just forget the shakes and found that my bacon and cheese whopper had no bacon. Thankfully I had ordered another item with bacon that I could spread around. I wasn't about to go back through that line to get it fixed. Lemme preface this by saying, I've never been in this town before. I'm from NC; I brought a relative to Sexton Dental Clinic on Palmetto. It was 9:30 AM, I was beyond… PAST exhausted, and wanted some place with a drive thru. Wendy's was closed… it's the only fast food I like. McDonald's wasn't as close as BK, Wendy's, and Bojangles (yuck); plus, I never eat meat there, just the fries. Anyway, I decided on this restaurant because it was open, close by, and I enjoy eating BK's chicken sandwich (never the fries). I happened to read the reviews on this location because… they were there, I'm using Google Maps, whatever why not? Something told me not to eat here after reading some of the reviews, but I was like "Screw it. Everyone's experience is different." I had to get breakfast because it was so early; I didn't even know BK served that. My hash browns were trash browns. The chicken biscuit was ok. The NY cheesecake tasted like NY alright… the subway. I said all of this to say, it is now 1 PM and I am slumped over a public restroom toilet asking God to remove the evil spirit infested in my bowel. Went through the drive thru and ordered 6 items 3 were edible and the rest were not. I got a chicken sandwich that was a brick and although we were told it was made fresh all of it was cold and the taste was not great. I will say that when we went back for a refund for the items we couldn’t eat they instead gave us a full refund which I appreciated but me and the person with me felt that the tone used by the manager was condescending and acted as if we were being Karen’s who just wanted to complain , we admitted we ate a few items and had zero expectations of a refund but if I spend $25 on food and can’t half of it then I will ask for a refund.
