On 9/21/17 Let me start off by saying the food was ok, but the service was bad. I was attending a class in Florence and it was lunch time, everyone went out different places to eat lunch. The guy that was sitting next to me said that he was going out to eat a hotdog for lunch. Well I told him why not treat yourself out to some barbecue today. Me , my supervisor and the young man got into my car and I drove to the restaurant because I been there before. Well when we arrived we paid separate $12.25 for lunch. The cashier asked was we with eight are more party. We applied NO. When we went to sit ourselves there were four others people that was at the meeting sitting at the table. We greeted them and sat down with them. Just as I was about to eat ,the manager came and said there was a issue about tips . It was told that we didn't pay for tips. 8 or more you supposed to pay $2.00 for tip. But it was 7 people sitting at that table besides I always leave tips. We asked him what's the problem everyone said that they was planning on tipping. We all started feeling unwelcome so we just finished our plates and some didn't finish and they didn't want to eat anymore. everybody left a tip. The waitress ended up getting $21.00. That's more than she would have gotten for 8 people tipping for $2.00 per person. I would never go back again and I blamed myself for stopping the guy from getting a hotdog. I think he would have...
Read moreThe food at this establishment is good. However, it is not consistently so. We have come in the evenings on Friday and Saturday nights and had good Fish, chicken or ribs. And other nights it’s barely edible. Somethings are consistently bad, like the biscuits. They sort of resemble small white hockey pucks instead of nice high, fluffy, southern biscuits. Over the last couple of months, I feel the salad portion of the bar has been scaled back to accommodate more carb options, which they definitely don’t need more of. We went for the Sunday brunch today and the first pan of macaroni and cheese which my daughter got was excellent, and 15 minutes later, when a new pan was placed, I grabbed some and the noodles were so over cooked, It was like weird greasy congealed cheese mush. The devil crabs today were pickled flavored stuffing in a crab shell without any actual crab meat. The fried pork chops are always wonderful and the nondescript fried fish was fairly good as well. The hush puppies were stone cold, which maybe that’s just a regional thing, but I’m used to them being served hot.
I’ve just come to feel that the value for the cost is no longer there. Maybe they’re simply busy with catering orders for parties because it’s the Christmas season but it was seriously lacking...
Read moreOh. My. Goodness. I was in town for a funeral, and a friend told me that I had to stop by Woodstone because they had the best Southern comfort food I'd find in the area. My goodness. I don't think my tongue was prepared for the tasty adventure that was lying in wait. The restaurant is buffet style, and they also have a menu from which patrons can order. We decided on the buffet which was only $12.50 and included a drink (sweet tea, lemonade, and Pepsi products). All of the food was hot and tasty. I was so full from the hot food that I didn't even have dessert. And...I didn't waste stomach space on salad. I love it, but salad is salad; I can eat that at home. Kanye shrug Our server was just as great as the food. His name is Mason, and he is just as kind and attentive as they come. He didn't let any of our glasses get down to ice, and the the buffet stayed stocked as well. As soon as something was about half-full, someone came out to make it full-full. I've never seen that at a buffet before. You can also purchase food to go - food from the buffet and skins. All in all, our experience was...
