Jonah indian kitchen & bar — Restaurant in Florence

I don’t leave many reviews but I had to for this place. After reading the reviews I had to double check and make sure I had the right restaurant. Maybe the usual servers were off when we went but we had terrible service. The two servers we had looked like they had just rolled out of bed. One server was really nice but he had his phone in his pocket playing music, Future to be exact. At one point he went to turn the music in the restaurant up, I guess to drown out his phone but it didn’t really help because he was sitting a table over from us rolling silverware so we were mostly hearing his phone. The other server was very confused most of the time. He suggested a dish for me to try which I decided to get. My friend ordered a different dish. A few minutes later he brought out two of the dish that she ordered. I asked if they were the same. He replied yes. I let him know that I didn’t order what she had, I ordered what he recommended. He just was so lost. With that and them yelling across other customers to see if we needed anything we decided to get boxes and leave. We told the server that it was separate. He was confused again. So he said split it? And we just said sure so we could just be done. There were maybe two other tables there so we couldn’t understand why the service was so slack. Best Indian Food in Florence, SC! ​Amy and I had an absolutely excellent experience at Jonah Indian Kitchen. I can confidently say this is the very best Indian food in Florence, SC. ​I ordered the Lamb Xacuti Curry and asked for it to be very spicy. When it first arrived (a delicious 5/10 on the heat scale), the chef himself came out to inquire if it was spicy enough! He offered to take it back without hesitation and brought it back out perfectly spiced, the customized heat level was ideal, and the lamb itself was incredibly tender. ​We also loved our sides. The Garlic Naan was so phenomenal that we immediately ordered a second basket. We also tried a Dosa for the first time, which came out as a massive, thin, beautifully crisp crepe with an assortment of tasty dips. It was delicious and a total surprise! ​Fantastic food, wonderful ambiance, and truly exceptional, personalized service from the chef. We will absolutely be coming back here.

Edit: came back a second time to check consistency, and they remembered exactly how spicy I like my curry. The chef himself has now come out both times we've eaten here to check on us and make sure we were satisfied. I would absolutely recommend...
