⭐ Honest Review – Great Potential, But Some Concerns ⭐
I ordered food Saturday 7/12 to go at the front counter and was charged a 3.99% card fee and a 2% hospitality fee. These fees were not disclosed anywhere — not on the menu, the wall, or at the register.
When I politely questioned the charges, the manager said, “Everyone in the county charges these fees,” but admitted there were no posted signs. She initially offered to refund the card fee, but then said she couldn’t process it. In the end, I received no refund at all, even though the fees were added without my consent or any notice.
This kind of surprise charging is a deceptive business practice and could be a violation of SC consumer protection laws. It’s not about the $0.88 or $0.44 — it’s about: • Transparency • Fair business practices • Consumer rights
I didn’t dine in, but was still hit with a hospitality fee. And after acknowledging the issue, they refused to correct it. That’s not right.
⸻
⏳ Wait Time Another thing: the wait time for food is consistently long. Today, my takeout order took approximately 30 minutes. I’ve also visited 1 time before with family and waited over 45 minutes, then food came out in 10–15 minute intervals between each person.
⸻
🍽️ Price My order — Jasmine Grits with French toast & bacon, plus a side of tater tots for my son — was $25 with no drink. I understand quality comes at a cost, but when prices are already high, extra hidden fees make it feel unfair.
⸻
🙏 Final Thought Don’t get me wrong — the owner is warm, kind, and hospitable. She even prayed with us the 1st time we met, which meant a lot. Overall this review is meant to be constructive, not harsh. There’s real potential here @ LiL Jazzi’s Cafe, with just some areas that need attention.
If these fees had been disclosed and the wait times more reasonable, this review would be very different. But as a customer, I believe in standing up for honest practices. If no one speaks up, nothing changes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️Update to OWNER 7/14… Hey, I totally get it — fee, tax, etc. I understand it’s a legal charge. But for people who aren’t from Florence, like myself (and based on your reviews, quite a few of your other customers), this additional charge feels unusual.
The issue isn’t about whether the hospitality tax is legal — it’s about transparency. A 2% hospitality tax may be standard in your city, but it’s not common in many other places, so it would go a long way to simply post a sign explaining the charge. It’s a small step that would greatly improve customer clarity and reduce confusion — especially for out-of-towners.
Also, there was no sign posted for the credit card surcharge, which is legally required to be disclosed before purchase. That’s where things move from surprising to potentially non-compliant.
Posting clear signage would be a great step toward better customer service and communication.
I uploaded videos and pics. No signs posted is what...

Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the warm and inviting ambiance of the cafe. The space was impeccably clean and thoughtfully arranged, providing plenty of room to move around the tables, ensuring each patron had a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
What struck me even more was the sense of family that permeated the establishment. Learning that LilJazzis is a family-run business made the whole experience feel even more special. It's always heartening to support local businesses that put their heart and soul into what they do.
The menu offerings at LilJazzis were nothing short of impressive. As someone who appreciates a good breakfast to start the day, I was pleased to find an array of choices like omelets, pancakes, waffles, and grits. The breakfast options were diverse and catered to various tastes.
For lunch, I was spoiled for choice as well. The hand-patted burgers were large and satisfying, leaving me feeling full and content. The selection of hot dogs, chicken, seafood, sandwiches, and salads provided something for everyone, making it an excellent spot for groups with diverse preferences.
One thing that stood out to me was their attention to catering for all ages. Offering a kids menu for both breakfast and lunch is a testament to their commitment to creating a welcoming environment for families.
My meal at LilJazzis included a delightful hamburger with crinkle-cut fries, and I must say, it was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Juicy, flavorful, and generously portioned - it was an absolute treat. The accompanying crinkle-cut fries were the perfect complement, adding a delicious crunch to the meal.
To my delight, LilJazzis also offered a selection of specialty coffees and smoothies. I could hardly resist trying their hot chocolate with all the tempting options available. Additionally, the availability of beer and wine adds a nice touch for those looking to unwind with a drink.
All in all, LilJazzis Cafe is a gem in Florence, South Carolina. From the warm and spacious atmosphere to the mouthwatering array of dishes, they have truly mastered the art of creating a memorable dining experience. The friendly staff and delicious offerings make it a place I would highly recommend to anyone in search of a delightful breakfast or lunch spot. Read moreVisiting from Texas for the holidays and decided to google local breakfast spots in Florence. I stopped in for breakfast and have to say I was very disappointed. If I were a local instead of visiting, this would definitely be on my list of places to avoid.
I ordered the LilJazZi Platter which came with Rogerwood sausage, bacon, sausage patties, eggs, grits and my choice of waffles, french toast or pancakes (I chose french toast). I wish they would have noted that they only provide 1/4 of a Rogerwood sausage link. Seriously, they only provide a small portion of the sausage. The bacon was nothing but fat... The eggs were kinda wet... Maybe turn the heat up in the kitchen so you're actually cooking things thru. The sausage patties seem like they were placed on the grill long enough to warm up, bc when you cut into it, it looked just as it was formed. The grits was a bit runny as well. Again, turn up the heat in the kitchen and allow things to cook properly. I did not eat the french toast, as I don't eat bread... but took it to go. Drink prices are ridiculous. Three dollars for a canned soda and three fifty for the apple juice.
Finally, there is a smell. I don't know if someone was mopping with a dirty mop and/or water, if it was the rag they young lady was cleaning tables with or what, but there's a sour smell in the air. I'm not sure if that was an owner that stopped at my table, but I almost suggested they invest in an HVAC aroma diffuser.
Maybe they're better with their lunch options, but I will not be giving them another chance. I do hope they improve bc I'm always rooting for the local small business...
