Went on the night of the 20th, at around 7:30. Food was delicious with the crispy chicken alfredo, but service took forever. Had to wait 15 minutes for a drink order!
We were visiting family and decided to go here for dinner as a party of 13, and that was understandably too big, so they decided to split us into two different tables next to each other. However, we were served by separate waitresses. The other table got their drink orders almost right away, while our waitress didn’t take our drink orders for 15 minutes. When she did, she messed up our drink orders. I ordered mocha. She forgot two of our drinks, one of which was my mocha, so asked her about it and said she forget and she’ll get them soon. 5 minutes later, she comes back with the other drink and says that the chocolate machine was broken.
30 minutes later, THEN she asked us for our food order. It took nearly an hour just to get a food order at this point. We were starving! Slow customer service. When she took our food order, our other family members at the other table were already done eating!
Cherry on top was she asked if we wanted the bill. We said yes, but she didn’t come back. We waited 15 minutes after that. Nothing. So we went to the front and talked with someone else and got it situated.
I do have to give them credit about the food — the alfredo I mentioned earlier is very good. Also nice views of the Siuslaw River while you eat.
Overall, disappointed, with this being the worst customer service in a restaurant I’ve ever experienced! It wasn’t even that busy. What was meant to be a dinner where our family could eat and talk ended up being one where half of our family ended up waiting for us (and eventually leaving) by the time we even received our food. As us being visitors to Florence and wanting to explore it that night, we ended up stuck there...
Read moreMo's is a well-known chain with locations across the Oregon coast, but unfortunately, my experience at the Florence, OR location was by far the worst.
The restaurant has the typical coastal decor you’d expect from a seafood chain, but the ambiance did little to distract from the disappointing food and service.
The service was lackluster at best. There were no check-ins, no water refills, and the staff seemed disengaged and indifferent. This inattentiveness contributed significantly to the overall negative experience.
The food at this Mo's location was incredibly disappointing.
The chowder, which is supposedly one of Mo's signature dishes, was beyond tasteless. It arrived looking unappetizing, almost as if it had come straight from a prison camp. It seemed like they had placed a whole stick of butter at the bottom of the bowl before ladling in the soup and doused it with paprika. The taste was as awful as the presentation.
My 3-Piece Halibut Fish and Chips were equally disappointing. The fries were limp, the coleslaw was overly wet, and the halibut pieces were underseasoned and soggy.
Oyster shooters can be a hit or miss, and unfortunately, these were a complete miss. They were slimy and lacked any fresh flavor, making me question whether they were rinsed properly before being served.
The combination of flavorless dishes and poor service made this visit to Mo's in Florence, OR, particularly unpleasant. From the tasteless chowder to the soggy fish and chips and the disappointing oyster shooters, there was nothing redeeming about this meal.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Mo's location in Florence, OR. If you're looking for a satisfying seafood meal, it would be wise to explore other dining options...
Read moreI had the clam chowder in a bread bowl , which they call a Cannonball Bowl, and indeed, it was about the size and shape of a cannonball! I also had an order of their artichoke dip with toasted bread triangles. That was the most hearty and filling version of an artichoke dip I have ever had. I'm glad that I had that to eat while the chowder cooled a bit, because when it arrived, it was basically food lava, but smelled and tasted so dang good I definitely would have willingly hurt myself trying to eat it anyway. I wanted to get photos, but everything was so delicious, I got distracted, and I only remembered after the plates were emptied and wiped clean with the remnants of the bread bowl. I highly recommend it! I would have dropped a star for not having really any dessert options that I could find, but it is located right across the street from a great ice cream parlour, so that actually worked out perfectly! I highly recommend this for everything from a solo trip to date night, to a family dinner or even a business function. The view of the river, and bridge crossing it into Florence from the south is spectacular, and they played some great music; classic rock including Don Henley, The Eagles, and John Mellencamp, but quietly enough that you could easily have a conversation without having to raise voices. Perfect atmosphere, amazing food, great service with attentive staff that even took the time to find the answer to a really dumb, silly question I had about one of their humourous decorations. Most entrees were less than 20 USD, but if you have a drink and split an appetizer, it will put the meal in the 20-30 USD range per person, which is...
