When we arrived, we were asked to sit outside as all tables inside were not bussed. We gave our drink order and ordered garlic knots. As we are sitting there, a man who we figure is the owner, asked if we needed menus, no just drinks, we ordered. Our drinks arrived 20 to 30 minutes after we ordered them and finally placed our food order. 30 minutes later, one of the two pizzas ordered was brought out. We asked our server about the other pizza and he said it was in the oven. Another guy came out to check everything and we asked about our pizza again (another 20 minutes had past). He said it was in the oven. The original server came out again and said it had just gone in, we told him we didn't want it, we had someplace to be, bring the bill. He brought the pizza anyway and we were charged full price. The garlic knots are really good. The pizza is ok after heating it in the microwave 4 1/2 hours after ordering. We are good tippers, not tonight. The guy making pizza was hustling and getting it done. The server, not on top of anything and I think he forgot to put our order in the computer. You want a good tip, you have to be a good server. Four couples walked in or sat outside and ordered after us, they ALL got their food and drinks before us. We...
Read moreI had high hopes for Amor Brick Oven Pizza, but this was hands down the worst calzone I’ve ever had. We ordered a regular calzone meat lovers and a meatball calzone, and both were a complete disaster. The meatballs tasted like they came straight from a can—giving off that artificial, processed “canny” taste that completely ruined the flavor. On top of that, there wasn’t nearly enough cheese inside, and the meatballs were so scarce that they didn’t even stretch across the whole calzone.
To make matters worse, when we spoke to management about it, they turned around and charged us for two more meatballs—telling us that’s all we were going to get in the calzone. That level of customer service was just as bad as the food itself.
This was a total waste of money and time. We eat at a lot of different places, and this was by far one of the worst experiences we’ve had. And honestly, if you eat here, you might want to think twice unless you’re okay with the possibility of feeling sick afterward.
Would not recommend. Definitely...
Read moreThere are a lot of restaurants options in the Gulf Coast Mall, and many of them are good. However, Amore is firmly at the top of my list - it's great. I have had their pizza many times and I just keep coming back for more. My favorite is the Bianca, but the Mediterranean is also excellent. I love the atmosphere too. There's something special about watching your pizza being made with all fresh ingredients and then sliding into the massive brick oven. It's all so authentic!
One caution - if you want a chain restaurant experience, then Amore is probably not for you. Since it's a local company, everything in the restaurant is original, and there's even a good chance one of the owners will be there to greet you. The sad truth for people outside of the local area is that if you want an Amore pizza, your only choice is to come...
