I want to start by saying that I truly love this store because it offers a wide variety of home dƩcor items, and I have been a loyal customer for quite some time. However, I recently visited the Fort Myers location on January 1st, 2025, and had a frustrating experience that I feel needs to be addressed.
I noticed that the store had several Christmas trees on sale, some of which were on display, and some were not. I was interested in two trees, but one was not on display, so I decided to open the box to check the material since I was specifically looking for a certain type. At that point, an employee named Parker approached me very rudely and said, "You are not allowed to open the boxes because if you were a customer, you wouldn't buy a box-opened tree." I explained that the tree was not on display, and I just wanted to see the material, but Parker insisted, "No, you can't."
I was taken aback by his tone and felt completely dismissed. As a customer, I expected a more helpful response, like offering to show me the material or finding a supervisor to assist. Instead, I was left standing there with no explanation or solution.
Frustrated, I continued browsing the store and happened to see Parker several more times as I walked around, despite the store being quite large. My husband, noticing how upset I was, went to find another employee. A lady kindly showed him the material and even explained that if we bought the tree and didnāt like it, we could return it by January 7th. This gave us options, which was reassuring.
Ultimately, I decided not to purchase any trees, as the poor customer service left me very disappointed. I never expected to encounter such an unhelpful attitude at a store Iāve always enjoyed shopping at.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope it can be addressed so other customers donāt have the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been really getting into At Home stores in my various travels as I continue to furnish 3 homes in different states. I like what they are all about. We shopped at this store on 1/31. We entered at 8:15 pm with a specific short list of items to buy. We found only 1 out of 3, thatās ok. So we used the rest of our time perusing the aisles of the store, slowly working our way back to the front. Some worker comes along and insists that he escort us to the front because it was near closing. He said something about it being a big store and they HAD to do this. I wanted to stop and briefly show my husband something I had found and also stop to look at a piece of artwork. The guy didnāt want to hear it and insisted we come with him to the point of preventing us from briefly looking at the items. However, I persisted and wasnāt going to let this jerk prevent me from two 10 second stops. Then, when we get to the front of the store, I look at my watch and see that it is ONLY 8:45!! I said to him that an announcement over the speaker would be sufficient at 15 minutes before closing. He gave me some BS that it wouldnāt be heard over the (barely audible) music. I was offended at this action. I have never been treated like this in any retail establishment. They might have made an additional sale in that 15 minutes. More importantly, they might not have pissed off a previously satisfied customer. I provided the date and time in case some store manager will read this. Change your brand of customer service. Is this why your store is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been searching for 18 inch lampshades and decided to visit At Home. I found several shades but I needed assistance. I went to the register and Paul the manager tried to assist until an angel appeared named Suyenh. She assisted with the lamp shades and I ended up purchasing four shades and two additional lamps. I continued walking through the store and saw these beautiful dog beds but there was no price. Once again I saw Suyenh nearby and I asked how much were the beds? I ended up purchasing two. Then I walked over to the area rugs and found a beautiful rug but I needed it in black. To my surprise...guess who was stacking rugs...Suyenh. I said, "Are you the only one working?" I asked about the bathroom rugs and once again she was able to assist me. I picked up a censored trash can, two pictures and a rug. Then it was time to checkout. As I waited in line with two people ahead of me and one behind me, the cashier needed a manager override. When the manager arrived and saw the line he called for another cashier. By the time the cashier arrived, I was next in line. To my surprise guess who came...Suyenh! We both laughed and I said, "How appropriate that you would be the person to check me out. Suyenh is a very hard worker and she has great customer service skills!!! It was a pleasure shopping at the At Home store today because of Suyenh!!! Please give this young lady a raise and paid vacation!!! She is an invaluable find for At Home and in...
