We've been coming here for 35 years. New owners came in and they are awesome. They have added delicious onion bialys , croissants, occasional homemade pastries and rugalach. The bagels are the best. I get an omelet with vegies, sausage and cheese. We also get the nova platter and they give us generous amounts of lox, onion, tomato, lettuce, pickles, capers, potato salad and cream cheese. Everything is fresh. This is the best place to get the nova platter in the Kendall and Pinecrest area. And one of the few places in Miami that still serves vanilla and hazelnut coffee. They also serve espresso coffee drinks. They have different kinds of in house mixed cream cheeses and they make honey butter. They serve Martinelli's apple juice and Dr. Browns soda, along with tea, coca cola sodas and orange juice. You can get sandwiches made with Boars Head meats and they have a sanwich lunch special that includes a drink and chips. The restaurant is family owned and family orientated. They are super friendly and and accomodating. The restaurant and restrooms are clean. They keep a tv on which is nice too. They have inside and outside seating. We've met a lot of the other regulars that come in and we always enjoy the atmosphere here.

I used to live in NYC so every now and again I wake up with a serious bagel craving----I just want a traditional styled bagel, with some yummy cream cheese, and a coffee. I came into The Bagel Express with this craving in mind and was pleasantly surprised to find a true diner styled experience. The bagels here are definitely quality in comparison to other local spots. My boyfriend got a garlic bagel with cream cheese and egg on top while I decided to go with their nova platter with chives cream cheese that came with a delicious pickle (seriously, above average), lettuce, tomato, onion and a tiny side of potato salad. We enjoyed our meals and were definitely full after. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because the pricing was a little high (we spent around $30) and the coffee was absolutely terrible; couldn't finish it and didn't want to. Other than this, I would come back for an authentic bagel or to try their deli styled sandwiches which is $10.50 with a drink and chips. IG: @KFitzEats

Have been coming here for years and just now posting a review. These are authentic NY styled boiled bagels. They’ve been consistent and delicious every time no matter which kind you want. Today I had a multigrain everything bagel double toasted with honey maple turkey slices with provolone loaded with all the fixings accompanied with a nice pickle and potato salad. Extremely satisfying. Pedro prepared my lunch today and as always, a super nice guy. I’ll keep coming here and recommend to anyone who appreciates a really good bagel!

Since Henry sold the shop it has been going backwards with this new management. I have gone several times at 1:15 or 1:30 and they've already have the machines cleaned, no bagels, no sandwiches and ready to close the shop even though there is at least 30 minutes left to closing time.

Closing time means that is when you will service your last customer regardless of anything else. That is if the store is not full, otherwise you keep it open until you finish servicing your very last customer...that is called goodwill and smart business savvy!

These new management don't know how to to run a restaurant or how to even treat customers. Any business takes care of a client that comes in 30 min., not to mention it should take care of anyone that comes in even at 1 min before closing, be thankful that you have people walking in your door. Don't tell your customer, Oh! we already cleaned all of the equipment and can't serve you....then you are in the wrong business. You clean your equipment after closing not before!

Always you have to take care of that person because before you know it it you wont have anyone to take care of. This has already happened to me several times and I will not be going back! By the way it's a great way to loose customers.

Even Henry would take care of you most of the time if you got there at almost 2:00 and everyone knows how grumpy Henry was. Trust me I know I've been going to Bagel Express for over 30 years. It is sad to see the lack of customer care this place has...don't think it will last very long unless they re-adjust their attitude! These are my two cents...

By the way the majority of the reviews are from when Henry use to owned the place this people are new owners and are...

Was my first time at Begal Express, and I asked about any special they have, was recommended a begsl with salmon , onions, tomatoes and pucke with small spoon full of cheese cream call Scotta Platter.(special sold at the regular menu price.) It's also included a tea spoon potato salad in a tiny plastic container just like a cream cheese, all was served on the Styrofoam plate with plastic fork and knife. The older lady prepared my order was nice, she looked very tired. I also ordered a capuchino, that was served by a yang very angree looking lady, the capuchino taste was like American coffe with milk not even hot , and tasted nothing like capuchino, also was served in the flimsy Styrofoam cup. For the price I was charged for that Platter and "capuchino " I can assure its was my first and last time at this Begall Express. The Begal it's self tasted no deferent that Publix sales. Food and over all experience with Dr.Oz show plaing on the TV at this bagel place was no more then 2 Stars overall. I wouldn't recommend this place, for similar salmon Platter and a real nice capuchino I usually go th Franch Bakary, they couple around this location, will cost about the same but quality of food served on the real glass plates and cups is much better...
