Disappointing Experience with Multiple Issues
I recently had dinner at Red Lobster, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I encountered a number of issues throughout my visit that left me greatly disappointed.
To start with, both my husband and daughter ordered sodas, but they were served flat drinks. When we requested a change, the replacement fruit punch was watery and lacking flavor. This made me question the quality of the beverages being served.
Additionally, I decided to try one of the alcoholic beverages from the menu, which was advertised at $10. However, instead of being served a reasonable portion of beverage, I was presented with a glass filled with an excessive amount of ice. It felt like I was paying $10 for a cup of ice rather than the promised cocktail.
We ordered the new garlic steamed crabs for my kids, as they love seafood. However, to our disappointment, the crabs had an overpowering taste of the ocean. While I understand that seafood does possess a distinct flavor, it seemed as though the crabs were not properly cleaned or soaked in the ingredients to minimize the intense oceanic taste. This significantly affected our enjoyment of the dish.
In terms of service, we were surprised to find that a waitress did not greet us or bring bread to our table immediately, as is customary in most establishments. We waited a full 30 minutes before being served the bread, which was definitely not fresh. It seemed as though they had used store-bought bread straight from the box, which did not align with the quality of bread Red Lobster advertises.
To top it off, the crabber fries we ordered were incredibly disappointing. They lacked any crab meat and were mostly just covered in sauce. This was not what we expected, as the name and menu description clearly indicated a significant presence of crab meat in the fries.
Overall, my experience at Red Lobster was subpar due to a multitude of issues. The very first problem with seating, problems with the drinks, garlic steamed crabs, timing of service, quality of bread, and lack of crab meat in the fries greatly impacted our enjoyment of the meal. I hope that Red Lobster takes this feedback seriously and takes the necessary steps to improve the quality of their service and food. My husband was very disappointed he did not at first want to leave a tip but I had to explain the person who was supposed to be our waitress was not the cook so that part falls on the kitchen, but as for waiters and waitress please do a better job of checking on your tables to make sure they have everything needed. I didn’t even have napkins at the table or was even offered hand wipes. Other seafood restaurants has taken over and red lobster is just...
Read moreYesterday was my worst experience at this Red Lobster. My family arrived at 7:30 and by 8:10 we ordered our food. Our waiter took a long time to put our food order in and it didn’t come to the table until 9:20. That was over an hour. Around 9:00 our waiter came by our table and apologized for the wait that they were backed up in the kitchen however it still took 20 minutes. By that time my kids were starving. The waiter did bring an extra plate of biscuits but the biscuits were also poorly made, they lacked flavor and was brought to us cold; the waiter didn’t bring the biscuits until 5 minutes before the food finally came. The people that were in the booth next to us arrived after and ordered after and even they received their food before we did. Normally I would understand that the kitchen was backed up but not in this case because even if the kitchen was backed up the people in the booth next to us still should not have gotten their food before us. My husband ended up tipping the waiter a 10% tip on an $130.00 bill and even then it was undeserved. We were never rude to the waiter and we were very patient. Eventually, after I finished eating I had to take my toddler to the car at 9:40 pm so she could fall asleep in the car and my husband could eat in peace. Lastly, management needs to teach their employees what company they work for. We had a $25 gift card from olive card to use and the waiter didn’t know how to ring it up. Darden is the name of company which owns several restaurant chains like Olive Garden, red lobster, cheddars and Bahama breeze. This was the first time I went to a restaurant and the waiter didn’t even know what company he worked for. My husband used to work for Red Lobster ( the very same one we went to) and knows that the gift card should have been accepted. This place was very disappointing and probably the worst birthday dinner I’ve had. We were supposed to have dessert and my family was going to sing happy birthday to me and couldn’t because I had to spend the rest of my night in the car so that my toddler...
Read moreIt wasn't a busy Saturday night 6:30-6:45. The wife and I walked in and was seated immediately. After about 10 minutes server stepped away from the computer that he was at next to our table to say he would be with us in a minute. We waited a little over 10 more minutes before someone else came to take our drink order. Our server was at that computer for over 20 minutes. Now we have been there for a good 30 minutes server finally came to take our food order and tells us that they only have fried shrimp, shrimp fettichine, and sauteed shrimp. So much for endless shrimp or half of the shrimp dishes that they have. So we settle for something that we really didn't want and had to ask for our biscuits. Fast forward 30 minutes since we ordered and still waiting for our salads. When we asked about our salad server said oh not sure let me check, and that was the first time he had even walked by our table since taking our order. Several minutes later wouldn't you know salad and the meal show up at the same time. Salad had no dressing took several minutes to get that. My meal was supposed to have coleslaw it wasn't brought to the table had to ask for that. My meal did taste ok. my wifes meal the scallops had a very fishy/funny taste and she gets them just about every time we go to a Red Lobster. That is not how they are supposed to taste. We had to ask 3 different people to speak with a manager before she finally showed up.
My wife and i both work in the restaurant industry. We didn't take the $10 off discount that was offered just want to bring what was going on to her attention.
The funniest thing is with everything that went wrong with our order. When we got home my wife said "i just realized i never got my baked potato either"
Needless to say it will be a while before we go back to a red lobster. living in south florida there are a lot better places to get seafood, On this night we were just wanting shrimp so we came here and didn't...
