Well, to start off I grew up eating at this Carvel specifically, never had a problem until today. I tried ordering a custom cake online but was having an issue, I called the store twice. First time the call was denied, the second call I was answered with a somewhat rude employee. As someone who has worked in a food service I can understand the annoyance of having to deal with customers. My intention was to ask if they can help me with the order since I wasnât able to select a pick up time online and if there was a way to do it over the phone, if the issue was that it was a short notice then Iâd totally understand. But the employee was rude from the get go. I explained the issue and he would say âjust select a timeâ after explaining it multiple times that it wonât allow me to select ANY time for the date I need it by. He then proceeded to say in a more rude tone â maybe itâs cause itâs busy and theres no more orders that day?â while also saying well just place the order and i again told him iâm not able to because it will not let me proceed to select ANY time. So he finally said he can select the time for me and to tell him my order and I said âokay please give me a momentâ he then proceeds to rush me and say âWell i need the order now because I have other customers.â I only responded iâll call you back later to then set the order. This happened 20 min ago. No one said, "be with you in a minute" or "sorry for the wait" or "how can we help you", by the time they got to us. She simply looked at me, I began to order then she said the softserve machine is being cleaned. Really? On a Saturday night after making us wait for over 10 minutes? At the very least she could have warned us while we waited, announced to the store that the softserve machine was not available. All the while there was another employee there a male, cleaning and picking up while he ignored us the entire time. Poor service.    Read moreSo I went here for a pickup with Postmates and saw the "Now hiring". At the same time I saw the hiring manager walking out the door so I took advantage of asking him about the position. With an attitude "we need an experience person". So I said ok. 2 mins after one of the employees told me, and I quote, "he hired anyone. I didn't have experience with ice cream before working here so IDK why he said that to you". Now I'm black with dreadlocks and can't help felt discriminated against after the employee said that.
