Summary: If you're hungry, do not come here. If you want just good coffee, this is great. Prices are high in comparison to other locations that serve better food and better portions. Staff is great.
Full Review/opinion : Food was basic. Small portions, lacking flavor. The Pancakes are thin/small and just 3. I ordered the banana - dulce de leche. The dulce de leche was cold and thick, so I wasn't able to drizzle it on the pancakes - I had asked someone to please heat it up. Cheese empanadas were tasty, though, although super oily and greasy. The Fabios favorite was small, lacking flavor, and avocados were a bit hard. I wish I took pictures of the food, but I was honestly shocked.
Perhaps this isnt the spot to go to when youre hungry.. more like a chill spot?
The coffee was excellent - at least. Took pics, all seemed to be going okay up until they brought out the food.
I don't understand these new age places. They trade quality/satisfaction of the food for ambiance, decor, and "Look! I have a chalk menu!". I normally do not write reviews, but today is the day. Perhaps this is just the state of things economically, idk. That or I am just mistaken and this is one of those "healthy" spots where there isnt a lot of food but they charge more while doing less because "health". Smart.
We are disappointed and spent almost $40 - since they have you pay for your food first, then seat yourself wherever available.
Otherwise, I would have protested and returned the pancakes so it would have been removed from my final bill.
It has good reviews, so I'd imagine the locals are satisfied, but as a foodie, coffee isn't enough to have us come back. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day?
Unfortunately, First Watch was packed... we would have preferred to wait an hour there rather than...
Read moregot here early, waiting for a couple friends of mine to have a business meeting. I sat down and opened up my laptop and waited for them to get there. I was waiting for my friends to order my drink I had a gentleman come up to me and tell me that laptops and working at the coffee shop are not allowed on weekends that he could attend me, but we cannot use our laptops. I told him I’m waiting for my friends and explain myself, and he said that it is not allowed. I have never been to a coffee shop where there are work hours and non-working hours we were paying customers that were ready to have our whole two hour business meeting there, ordering drinks and food from everyone I don’t understand that policy at all. Do they expect single people on the weekend to go there and order a coffee and sit there by themselves doing nothing what if I wanted to be productive while I drank my coffee is that not allowed on a weekend? I’ve been here a couple times before only on weekdays so this is my first time hearing of this ridiculous policy nonexistent at any other coffee shop. If you’re planning on going to macondo with a laptop to be productive, don’t they...
Read moreIncredibly disappointed with what I expected. Drove from Cutler Bay to Kendall after I had confirmed that they had the dish showcased in their webpage.…
I ordered a Campesina casserole which costs with Taxes $17.50 The dish is served on a hot skillet and as per the pictures in their website, the portion should have been enough to fill a 6-7 inch aluminum Foil container. What I got to go, was a 4 inch carton of scrambled egg with very little sliced sausage and shredded cheese. An incredible disappointment, and in no way resembling the picture nor the size portion expected.
I walked back from my car opted to Confirm the size with the cashier and when I saw no reaction, I Requested the price be calculated again… $17.50. I left the container with the food untouched and in the takeout bag in front of him at the counter, said, thank you very much, and walked out.
Consumers should respect themselves enough to not contribute to excess charging and not say anything. And taking it home and eating it… You become complicit by doing so.
Pretty place, with pretty coffee…...
