I would say that before anyone opens a restaurant they need to have customer service skills and this place by far is the worst I had experienced. My daughter ordered a cachapa and it was completely raw. I wish I would have taken the picture of her food. She waited 30 minutes for the food which is also unacceptable and they never told her it was ready. It was sitting on the counter. As soon as I told owner about my daughters food being raw she said she was not able to make anything else because they were really backed up in the kitchen. She noticed I did not like that response and then said, if I wanted something else, I had to wait another 30 minutes. How would that be acceptable for any restaurant? The correct thing to do is apologize for the quality of food given and try to make it right for the customer and replace it immediately. Not have the customer wait another 30 minutes if I wanted a replacement, which by that time, you don't want to eat anymore from there, as if you are a bother to them. She pretty much did not give me an option and told me that she could only refund me back which was another 10 minute ordeal. She had no clue how to refund an apple pay transaction. After she called someone to help her over the phone to do the refund, no receipt was given to me to prove the transaction was refunded. She said she was not able to print anything. Told me to take a picture of her phone if I wanted proof to see it was credited to the account, which did not show any information on her phone that it was credited to my daughters account. Definitely never eating here again. Hope you don't ever have to return...

I was told my food would take 15-20 mins. I came back around 12mins later, sat and waited. At the 20-35min mark, the girl that took my order asked my name and what I had ordered. I told her; she checked through the window b/w her and kitchen about the status of my food. She then made an awkward face. Not being sure she was going to tell me what was going on, I asked her if the kitchen had even started on my food.... she said "the ticket didn't print in the kitchen and it will be an additional 10-15 mins. I came back 10mins later (right at 1000pm -- closing time). While I sat waiting for my food, I watched the 2 front counter employees clean; sweeping, taking out trash. They were also assisting the kitchen crew with handling utensils, containers and bringing them extra bag of lettuce from front fridge...... AFTER HANDLING TRASH, THEY NEVER WASHED THEIR HANDS!!!!! When I told the front worker that I wanted to check to see if my burger was cooked through, she opened my to go container. I told her to please not touch my food as she had been HANDLING TRASH AND HAD NOT WASHED HER HANDS..... she just looked at me, non apologetic blank look, didn't acknowledge that I had just seen her and coworkers TOUCHING TRASH AND NOT WASHED THEIR HANDS. Seems that poor hygiene practice is the usual at this restaurant. Eat at your own risk if...

"Beware of Hidden Charges and Unclear Pricing!"

I recently visited, and it was honestly one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve had. First off, the menu didn't display any prices for the dishes, which should have been a red flag. When I asked the cashier, they were vague about costs, but I trusted them, thinking it wouldn’t be an issue.

I was shocked to see unexpected charges tacked on without any prior notice. The bill was almost 30% higher than I expected. When I questioned the charges, the staff was unapologetic and evasive, making it feel like this was a common tactic.

It’s so disappointing that a place with decent food would resort to these shady practices. If you don’t like surprises when you pay, I would avoid this place altogether. There are plenty of honest restaurants out there that respect their customers' trust...

We ordered and paid for a 3 cheese cachapa. When we got home, the cachapa looked deformed/half eaten and there was only ONE cheese. We called and asked for a refund but they were going to close so we were told to come back tomorrow. I come back today and another lady said because I took the product home that I wasn’t going to get a full refund, just the difference for the 2 cheeses that were missing. She gave me one dollar lol. The lady argued with me and called the owner and everything. I would have been fine with a replacement but not even that. I have ordered from here before and it wasn’t this poor food/service. Hopefully they improve it going forward.

What a lovely little spot with very friendly staff. It was my first time at The Krates inside The Grove Mall and I wanted a small bite and found this restaurant. I’m glad the food did not disappoint. I got the tequeños and chicken empanadas and they were piping hot. The empanadas were crunchy on the outside but super soft on the inside. The passion fruit juice was very good. The green and the pink sauce were so good that I was drenching everything in it. Definitely recommend and coming back when I’m in town again.

I bought the popular tequeños made with plantains, and honestly, they didn’t taste like the ones we’re used to in Venezuela. They were literally 97% dough, with the rest being cheese. I ordered natilla and they gave me a super tiny shot, which I couldn’t even combine with the tequeños. As for the empanadas, I'm a loyal fan of Venezuelan dishes, and they also disappointed me because when I bit into them, they were raw inside. The price is quite high for what they offer. I hope they have better luck
