I was on my way home from the city. I called ahead of time about 15 minutes to close. I had just gotten off work after a long day. I asked if I could order To-Go over the phone, they said no. I asked if they would wait for me as I was on my way, they said they would. I got there 1 measly minute after closing time. They had locked up. Disappointed, I turned to see the two employees talking amongst each other as one was mopping and the other doing something behind the counter. I knocked on the door, hoping they would honor what they said. They ignored me. I thought maybe they didn’t hear me so I knocked louder. The one mopping walked past the door and they continued to ignore me. I thought maybe they were engrossed in conversation so I knocked a little louder on the door. They continued to ignore me. Now officially disappointed, I went home as there were no other shops open at the time. I had been craving boba and I was specifically craving the one I looked forward to ordering so much so that the next day, I went back to the shop around late morning, early afternoon. There were a different set of employees this time. The two women were lovely and I was given my order. Finally, the Oreo boba I had been waiting to try! After all I went through to get it, it was not even worth it. Would I go back?...
Read moreI’ve been a boba tea drinker for over 10 years now and usually have to drive out to Tampa to get some decent boba. The spot in Chapel that was my sisters & I usually go to shut down unfortunately & the other boba spots here in Chapel have been average. I’m usually pretty picky with my boba drinks, especially with the fruit teas because they’re usually way sweeter than I like or not sweet enough.
My first time at Krates and decided to check out this boba spot & ordered a half mango half passion mix fruit tea with tapioca boba, which was simply top tier !! I’m definitely excited to try the other flavors and milk teas.
I’m sure the lines for this place can get ridiculous, especially considering it’s a small shop at the Krates. The line was outside past the doors when I got there, yet I barely waited 5mins in line and they got my order and drink out in less than 10. Think I found my new favorite go to spot for Boba...
Read moreAs a lover of bubble tea and having tried different places and franchises across North America, this place is pretty disappointing. I should have known given the menu looks like an excel sheet.
The service is very friendly but this is more like an introduction to bubble tea for Americans who never had anything like it.
I prefer bubble tea from Gong Cha or even the bubble teas from Hong (hot pot/Korean bbq restaurant)

In response to the owner’s message, I’d be more than happy to bump up the stars based on customer service and to support local business but I stand by what I said in terms of it being an introduction to “boba.” I appreciate the background info on where you and your wife moved from and there’s nothing I want more than to educate people who are unfamiliar with boba, the culture and flavors. I’m excited to see the learnings from the Bay Area...
