Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Florida

RACIST......My son went here to get a sandwich like he normally does. There is normally an older gentleman there, however today, was there was a young guy whose said his name is AJ, Anyways, my son gave him a $20 bill he had just pulled from the bank, the guy told him just from touching it that it was fake. My son told him, no, I just got it from the bank, then the guy proceeded to tell my son that he know its fake just from the feel of it. My son asked him to use the "pen" to verify that it is not fake, he told my son, he does not have a pen. So my son said, ok, here's a $50, he told him oh, we don’t take $50 bills. The customers that ordered before him paid with cash, but he did not check their money. He asked to speak to the manager and he told him he was the owner and that apparently he use to use fake money as a kid all the time, so he know its fake. We are a family of 6 and we spend A LOT on food, so you are telling me if we ordered $100 in food, you would NOT take the $50 bill???. Bull. My son got him to agree to go next door to have them check the money, sure enough they checked it and told my son his money IS NOT fake. The supposedly owner said, "oh, my bad". Needless to say we will never buy there again. I rarely ever write a review let alone a bad review, but I feel like my African American son with locks was been discriminated against. It's one thing to check the money WITH the pen and verify its fake, but to just off the back without checking say that its fake and that you basically won't accept any other bills from him…. That’s uncalled for. As a business owner, you owe it to your consumers to do your due diligence, which you did...

I walked in to dine in with husband, there was only 2 other customers in the restaurant. One of them already had an order and the other was waiting. I was standing there trying to get someones attention to take my order as I was standing there for a long time. Finally the girl behind the counter came up as if it was an inconvenience to her to take my order. I proceeded to order 6 wings and fries with a drink. She immediately and very rudely mentioned that it would take 30 minutes to make. Because my husband was super hungry we accepted the wait. No smile from the girl, she looked miserable as if she was unhappy with her life choices and working there. All the tables were messy and dirty. I wiped my own table sat down and waited. We waited more than 30 minutes for our order. I did not complain to her because she looked as if she just was not going to care. She handed the order to be in a to go container as if she wanted us out of there. We did not complain once for the wait or the filthiness, or bad attitude. There was at least 3 other customers that came in after we did and got their food way before we did.

I understand you might be understaffed, I understand if maybe we have a long wait for fresh wings. But there is no excuse for the bad attitude or the filthy tables. I observed her come up to the soda machine 3x to get herself something to drink and dillydally her way back behind the counter. she could of easily picked up a towel and wiped the counters and tables down for customers to eat comfortably.

Very unsatisfied with this location, I will never be back there again just to avoid the attitude, bad...

My first visit to any Charleys location. I was quite happy with the experience.

We were there for the Car Show, it was hot outside, lovebugs and all. High noon and we wasted no time deciding to go grab a bite to eat! My buddies knew where they wanted to go, so I tagged along.

It's a busy place, the staff is constantly on the go, but the lines moved quickly. I got the Regular size Philly Cheese Steak Combo Meal, which came with fries and a drink. All for $14.27 plus tax.

I love a good Philly and this one was a Hit with me. Plenty of meat and lots of ooey gooey cheese made me love the taste. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Oh! The fries? They looked like the homemade type, with a bit of potato skin left on. And I sure did NOT mind waiting for them to cook up a fresh batch, which they pretty much did for every customer. The fries were piping HOT and crispy delicious!

While I was getting a refill on my tea, I had the chance to talk with who appeared to be the main guy/the boss. He was really nice and thanked me several times for coming in. That goes a long way in making a customer feel welcomed.

I'll definitely be returning, whether to this store or my new hometown store in...
