Checkers — Restaurant in Florida

In the world we live in today you can get a good burger or great wings and awesome shakes all over but theres not too many places that have friendly management! We ordered our wings which ive never had before and i couldnt decide between garlic parm or buffalo so we got both and a man walks over to us and tells us that we should put both of them together and shake them up in the same box... #DELICOUS!!! We carried on in a conversation with this polite and outgoing man for almost half an hour. He was very sincere and outgoing and when he then told us that he managed all the Checkers in the Venice and Englewood area we were very suprised because of how nice he was and how much time he spent with us. He then gained our respect and honesty so we told him about a very minor issue we had at the Englewood Checkers and he literally fixed it on the spot right there with no hesitation what so ever! He really made my night which made the good that much better and the dining experience spectacular! I recommend to any and everyone to go to any of the Checkers in this area! It wad such a breath of fresh air to have someone really care about his business and your opinions and problems with this establishment. He reallly cares about his costomers and cared about people in general. Out of all the fine dining restaurants and fast food joints in Florida this has still to my suprise been my overall favorite place to go to eat! His name was Jon and he's the manager of the Checkers franchise in Englewood amd Venice areas and I recommend this place to any and everybody! Thank you Jon you have reassured me and my boyfriend who is a veteran and myself being a chef that there are still decent honest human beings...

I moved to Florida over two years ago and have driven by checkers hundreds of times and have never stopped and now I know why. My wife and I have been seeing the commercials for the 2 for $4 special and the $5 value meal, we had to go to Lowes and since they were next door we thought we would give it a try. I ordered a Chili dog and the spicy chicken sandwich for my two for $4. My wife ordered value meal with a large fries and drink, she also ordered a banana shake,

The disaster started when the young man came back to the window with my credit card and said that I still owed $5.19 forcing me to used another card ( I have an unlimited card ). We moved to the pickup window and waited for several minutes got the food and had to ask the young lasy for my receipt. Instead of a spicy chicken sandwich I received a burger which was nowhere near the 135 degree safe food temperture required by the health department. My wife got the fry lover's burger instead of the regular burger which was also well below 135 degree mark.

The food quality is poor, temperature unsafe, chicken nuggets were so bad that the family dog refused to eat them when we got home. The food looks nothing like what is on the commercial except that the soda, which is mostly ice, was cold. Banana shake was good althought a...

We eat out for lunch 3 to 4 times a week. This was our first time at Checkers in a long time. Checkers has a $5.00 Bacon Big Daddy special that is really good hot fast food. It’s a pretty good sized burger with all the trimmings, onion rings, sautéed onion, pickles and bacon. You need to put on your own condiments if you want, ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise. We asked for extra and she handed us fistfuls of the packets. The line went fast. Ordering was comical at the speaker box. The order taker evidently didn’t care about a mute button and we heard her talking to herself about how to key-in this special. After driving around to pick up our order we met a super lady with a great attitude and huge golden smile. There is no inside dining and they only have outside tables with umbrellas. I think all Checkers are set up like that. We are in the car because it was near 90 degrees outside. Checkers have the best fries anywhere ever, just the way I like them, hot and salty.
