Buyer Beware! If considering dining at Culver's, I highly recommend and existing reviews would agree to visit the Jacaranda location on Times Circle instead! This is my terrible most recent experience at this "fast food" establishment. It was not crazy busy or anything. We came through the drive thru and ordered a Deluxe Double Combo with a Concrete instead of a drink, we then asked for another of the same thing except the concrete would be different. When the kid who's name tag read "Assistant Manager " brought our food we noticed we only had one burger and fries. We told him we were supposed to have 2 Deluxe Double Combos but we did have 2 concretes. He asked for our receipt and sure enough was rung in incorrectly. He said he was sorry and there was nothing he could do but ring us up for another combo. We told him the concretes were supposed to be part of the combo and since we paid full price for the single menu items we ended up paying more than that if the were part of the combo. This did not compute. He said there was nothing he could do about the prices. We explained it was their mistake since the order was not put in correctly and it needed to be corrected since we were overcharged for the concretes. We came inside to sort it out. There were many adolescent employees standing around talking and didn't seem to be on task of any sort. I believe this may have been why the mistake was made because it must be distracting when so much socializing is going on rather than paying attention to customers. At the register the same Assistant Manager began to ring us up for another combo, we asked if the fries could be comped due to the hassle, error and frustration caused by this incident, to make up for the difference we paid for the full price concretes. He then said, "I'm sorry but I cannot do that due to our last month's food costs." I was shocked that this was brought to my attention as a valid justification for their mistake and why customer satisfaction could not be served. What ever happened to "the customer is always right"? Their food cost is not my problem, not to mention Culver's is more expensive than its competitors including Chik Fil A. In a sense we were overcharged since the order was put in incorrectly and he did not seem to understand this point. We asked for the drink since we were paying for the combo and had already paid for the concretes, he stated he was able to do this since the fries and drink were the same in cost. What a lot of sense that seemed to make. To FINALLY make it a little better he added a 15% discount to the combo. This fast food transaction ended up taking about 30 minutes total, unacceptable. Needless to say we will not be visiting this Culver's anymore and we were not surprised to see corresponding reviews of incorrect and missing item orders a frequent issue at this loaction. Still appalled that food cost was mentioned to us regarding their mistake that somehow we were responsible for. Had to share! I do not want anyone to have an experience like this. They didn't seem eager to correct the situation or be empathetic at all. Need more adults running...
Read moreCaution: If using Culver’s coupons, carefully review your receipt to make sure coupons applied!! Especially, from this Culvers.
We had lunch today (10/27) at Culvers (735 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293). My dining partner and I both had a $1 off coupon for a Value Basket meal. We directly handed our coupons to the cashier at checkout. I did make a mistake and handed the wrong Culver’s coupon, but corrected with the $1 off coupon.
While we were eating, I checked my receipt; did not see the $1 off applied. The amount was the same for another Value Basket meal at this Culvers several weeks ago. I then looked my partner’s receipt; same thing, no $1 off.
I went to the cashier, gave him our receipts, and asked if the $1 coupon had been applied. The cashier said that we had not given him a coupon. Note: I had seen my partner hand it to his hand as I did the same. I said yes, that we had given him the coupons; he said no. I then showed him the wrong coupon I had initially given him. He then remembered. Wow. Terrible customer service.
Without a word to us, the cashier left the counter, went to a woman, and gave her our receipts. I don’t know if she was in management as she did not say one word to us. She went to a register, pulled out two dollars, then forcefully jutted out the money to me. Not a word to us. No acknowledgement. Nada. Wow, WOW. Major terrible customer service.
Folks, all of this is true.
I’ve been in the restaurant business and know full well what happens when a restaurant is very busy. In this case, Culver’s in-restaurant-dining was not busy. There were only two people ahead of us placing their orders and there was no one in line behind us. The restaurant was about 25% to 30% occupied.
When I started to write this review, I realized that our receipts had not been returned to us.
Meals were ok. Price and customer service were...
Read moreFood taste great! This restaurant is rather newer to FL but us top tier fast food!! It costs slightly more but the quality for a $5 burger with real red onion slices is top notch! The fish sandwich is perfectly crispy and the chicken tenders are pretty good too, although I do think they could use a different coating (seasoned). Wether it's a hot day or I'm just craving some ice cream, they have the best custard ice cream and if you do the survey you can get a free kids size dish or cone. I am sad though because I would always opt to get the flavor of the day ice cream to try different flavors but on occasion I didn't like the flavor of the day, (mint or raspberry) I was allowed to get a chocolate ice cream with one topping instead for no extra charge. Now I have been to two different locations and they are now charging for my Snickers topping 85 cents which I don't understand because I would not just want chocolate plain ice cream. I will not pay 85 cents for one single sprinkle on handful of topping so either I get the flavor of the day or I can't eat there that night 😒... I guess I'm going to have to start looking online to see the current flavor of the day before I drive all the way there, because for the past couple years I had been able to switch for the flavor of the day, between Florida Culver's and...
