Absolutely horrible customer service. 11:50 am on 9/22.. I believe it was the manager working because I’ve seen him post all about checkers opening on Facebook when it first opened. I ordered the Mother Clucker ( ha pretty fitting name) which is $8.29… I didn’t get any upgrades. Nothing added. Just the meal. Well the computer that takes your order told me the total was $10.15. If you know basic Simple math, there’s not almost $2 in tax on an $8.29 order. So I pull up and this guy is on his CELL PHONE. I told him I think it got my order wrong because it said $10.15. He shooed me with his hand because he was on the phone, then checked the order and said “the mother clucker. $10.15” I told him that’s not correct because it was only $8.29. He then yelled louder, “$10.15” in which I replied again, that’s too much in tax for $8.29. He then yelled even LOUDER 10.15! Again! The total should’ve been under $9, not $10.15. He just keeps yelling 10.15 at me even though that’s not right. Cool. Forget it then if you won’t correct it. And slams the window in my face and ignores me. What kind of people do you have running this place? You either don’t care that you’re getting peoples orders right or you’re trying to rip people off and over charge them. It’s a shame. Was looking forward to having a new option in the area but I won’t be back. Please train your management how to handle situations properly. This was extremely rude and unprofessional not to mention, I’ve never seen a person working drive thru on their cell phone. Y’all just lost another customer and I see why you’re google rating is so low now. Do...

After a wonderful time at Alexander Springs I worked up quite a hunger, so I stopped by Checker’s, which was a BIG mistake!! I got three items - a burger (their Big Buford), their “Mother Cruncher” chicken sandwich, and their sweet tea - of which all three were a total disaster! I was hungry and quickly took two bites of the burger, just to realize the only thing warm on the burger was the toasted bun! The meat was only lukewarm because it was practically raw! I touched it with the back of my finger and the patties were actually COLD inside! Also my thumb mooshed deep into the soggy bottom bun to the cold bloody meat. The burger was entirely inedible.
Now for the chicken sandwich! Traditionally their chicken sandwich has always been one of the BEST, with their sweet tangy sauce, and the savory saltiness of the breading, to create one of the best tasting chicken sandwiches out there……… but instead of this I got a tiny dab of regular mayonnaise on the top bun, along with a couple slivers of shredded lettuce, a teeny tiny slice of tomato, and a giant wad of pickles all stacked directly on top of each other! On the bottom bun there was a mere snippet of mayonnaise, and overall the sandwich was dry and tasteless, and the sweet tea had a strange and bitter “fruity” aftertaste, which sort of made me think of green watermelon rind!
Only ONE STAR here folks, and in Palatka there are many wonderful places eagerly waiting to serve quality product, and I wasted eighteen dollars for what I got, and I will not...

Wow I was VERY impressed!! The Big Buford was cooked and seasoned to perfection, and this was one of the best burgers in town. Also despite the recent changes to their “Mother Cruncher” chicken sandwich it was EXCELLENT! A big piece of chicken that hung over the bun, and the actual filet was very flavorful with its perfect salty/sweet breading that gave it the perfect flavor. The difference being they switched from the orange peppery-sweet sauce they used to use to a more mayonnaise-like sauce which is still very good, and theirs is one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve had anywhere in the area.
Their fries were seasoned perfectly and have a slightly similar taste to the curly fries at Arby’s, and I actually like the ones at Checkers better.
Another thing I really enjoyed were the funnel cake fries! These were a bit messy but delicious, and these were a highlight to the meal!
I didn’t check for WiFi because it’s pretty much a drive-thru only place, but I did happen to see four outdoor tables with chairs, and they DO offer free tea and soft drink refills for those who choose to eat one of these tables. Also I noticed no background music, which I didn’t count against them, being mostly a drive-thru place.
Definitely FIVE STARS because of the excellent taste and food quality, and overall I highly...
